| Update: WE FOUND THE PERFECT DOG FOR US! Hey everyone, I HAVE GREAT NEWS! Recently I started a thread asking for ideas on what type of big dog, my boyfriend and I should get... We were looking for a boxer puppy or another bigger breed puppy. Everyone gave such great adive! And I am happy to report that WE FOUND OUR NEW FAMILY MEMBER! We rescued her from the animal shelter today! She is a 3 year old rottweiler Her story is heartbreaking, She was horribly beaten and was taken away from her owner.... The owner tryed to shoot her in the head but she turned and it grazed her eye instead. So she only has 1 eye. She is the sweetest little girl and gets along great with little dogs! She is sooo gentle and sweet! They were actually getting ready to euthanize her because people would completely lose interest once they saw that she only had 1 eye! We are so happy, we get to pick her up tomorrow (she is getting spayed tonight) we are so glad that we didnt go out and buy a puppy, and let me tell you, rescuing a dog feels great! We cant wait to give her a second chance at life! I will post pictures in the next few days! Thanks so much to everyone for the helpful suggestions! We havent thought of a name yet for her so if anyone has any ideas that would be great! THANKS -Kelsie- |

| What a wonderful thing you did and my hat goes off to you. That little girl is going to love you so much for what you did for her. It is stories like this that really make a person feel good inside. I think I would name her Hope because that is what you have given her now. Hope, something she didnt have before you came along. Cant wait to see pics. |

| Thats great! Thanks for rescuing her! Rescue dogs are the best and she will be forever greatful! Rotts can be really awesome dogs. Back when I lived in an apt. My downstair neighbors had a Rott named Penny and Penny LOVED my little pit mix Laney (who was only 4 lbs at the time), I never worried about them playing. Penny was alway gentle and careful of where she stepped.
