| The JOY of yorkie ownership!! I grew up with boxers that were part of the family. Our last one bonded to me, and even slept in the same bed with me. We had a very strong bond. Sadly, one Christmas Eve I had a very very bad asthma attack and was hospitalized for a week. The conclusion was severe allergies to cats and dogs. That meant that my little buddy had to go. I felt so guilty, and even worse watching my family suffer. Ever since, I've sadly lived a dog-free exisance. I tried all manner of alternative pets: iguanas, hedgehogs, and finally parrots. They are intelligent and complex beings. The feel deeply, and form such close bonds with their owners. I was blessed with a cockatoo and an amazon. While they were great company and entertainment, they weren't quite dogs. I basically resolved myself to having to live without one. Then, at a frend's bar-be-que I played with his yorkie. I got no allergies, no itching, rednessm, no shortness of breath, nothing AT ALL!!! SO that started my quest for a yorkie. I found the perfect little guy that came from a very loving home. He loves snuggling with me and giving me kisses. He's so very affectionate. Most importantly, he doesn't make me sick. And even more important is how loving he is. He wants to share in whatever I do, and wherever he goes, he runs right back to me to give me kisses. If i leave home he whines for me. I know part of it is that he's a puppy and misses his mom, but it touches my heart to be so wanted and needed. And it feels sooooooooo great to come home and have this precios little guy all excited to see me. I hadn't realized how much I missed having the love of a dog around. I'm so happy right now. Wickett was just what I needed. We also take really cute naps together. Totally my kind of dog. I'm in love, and SO VERY HAPPY!!!!! This is a REALLY big deal for me. |

| I am so glad you know the joy of owning a yorkie. Taking naps together is the best because they can sleep on top of you and snuggle! they also have the softest fur ever!

| I'm sorry you had to get rid of your boxer. Animals are so easy to get attached to, they are like children. I got my first yorkie at the begining of this year and I am loving every minute of it. They have such cute personalities! I want another one next year. |

| Yay! I'm absolutely enjoying every minute of being a yorkie mom!!!! It's funny how you take little things for granted. Around any other dog, if I get licked or scratched I immediately break out in hives and get all swollen and itchy. Sometimes that happens if the dog just rubs against me. Not to mention major sniffles and stuffy nose, and the asthma and wheezing. I used to think that yorkies being hypoallergenic was a myth, but I stand corrected. Wickett has been all over me and licked, etc, and I am perfectly fine! And in heaven!! |
