| Help...asap please Chloe hasn't eaten anything since yesterday morning (pre-op instructions) and I'm worried about her getting hypoglycemic so I'm going to wake her up & try to give her a bit of something. We don't have actual karo syrup, but we have regular corn syrup (bee hive brand) and we have honey. Which one is better to give? Thanks

Thanks so much. She got spayed & had 4 teeth pulled today...she's okay, I guess, but she's SO pitiful & in so much pain. She wasn't supposed to eat past 6 pm last night, but she only ate about a Tbsp yesterday morning & that was it for the day (that's pretty much her norm). Then today she hasn't eaten, at all.

| Are you able to get Nutrical in Ontario? That would be the best, but you might have to open her mouth and put in on her tongue. You can do the same with the honey and she will swallow. Poor little baby. Please give her a big hug from us........

Nope, no Nutrical here I was able to "poke" her with the honey, but most of it just got stuck in her beard right around her lips. I'm going to try again in a little bit. We're having chicken for supper, too, so I'll try & con her into eating some of that.

| Please give her a (gentle) hug from Max and me. If you can get her to drink, try to put a little sugar in the water. I once took a medicine syringe and shot water into Max's mouth very slowly because he wasn't eating.

| Awe, I hope little Chloe feels better soon. Emma just got spayed about a week and a half ago and is just now getting back to her perky self. Big hugs to Chloe! |

| Chloe I hope you feel better tonight and eat something, is she drinking water? You could add a little sugar to her water if she'll drink. If not I'd try to get some honey on my finger and gently rub into her mouth...I have found putting it on the roof of her mouth is less messy, and it will get into her system pretty quick. It doesn't sound like she's a very big eater to begin with so I wouldn't push her too hard, it may upset her belly. Good luck...and best wishes for a really speedy recovery.

| As others suggested, definitely try to get her to at least drink water...And you can put sugar or honey in the water to keep her blood sugar up...I'm praying for little Chloe. Eat for your mommy!!

| I've been using the tiny (only goes to 1/2 a CC) syringe that the vet gave me for pain meds to squirt water in her mouth. She will take about 2 syringes (1 CC) and then give up...then she'll do it again in about 30 minutes. So, technically she is drinking, but it's really nothing. I tried the honey again with no luck. I tried a little sugar, but with the amount of water she's taking there's not really any sugar going into her anyway. I tried chicken, but she won't take that either. I gave her all the hugs that were sent & lots of kisses She DID take those I know she's in a lot of pain, but they told me I can't give her any meds until breakfast in the AM.

| syringe feed Daisi was sick and would not eat. The vet gave me some canned food that ws easily slurped up in to a syringe. I fed her by squirting a little bit at a time into her mouth. You could call the vet and ask about that? or try making some canned food really soft put it on a spooon and into her mouth. If you have a syring try squirting a little into her mouth. If she is too sick to swallow I'd take her to the vet right away. I also think karo syrup is better than honey. Honey can contain boctulism. Drs warn against giving it to babies. I would put the syrupon m finger and rub it into her mouth.
