| 4 1/2 ft. Snake in my Backyard! This past Sunday afternoon........my 3 Yorkies (1 male & 2 females) were going crazy! They found a 4 1/2 ft. Snake in my Backyard! It was hiding around some tree's where Artie routinely marks his territory, just 2 ft. away. That was a little too close for comfort, for me anyway? I had to lock them up, until my BF. caught it and threw it in Wooded area. I didn't know what kind of Snake it was? But I didn't want to take any chances just to find out. They weren't scared at all. It makes me wonder? Are they afraid of anything? They walk right up, not even thinking twice. They have no sense of fear. Talk about confidence! |

| If it wasn't aggressive toward your boyfriend, it was probably a safe snake. I would think that even yorkies would know the signs nature offers of whether the snake was a threat or not. But I don't know. I'd be worried too, because we get rattlers a lot. I'm a snake lover though, so when I see one, I just catch him, keep him for a few days, feed him, take a few pictures, and release him. Sometimes I'll keep them for pets, but even though I'm learning how to milk venom, I haven't succeeded in convincing my family to let me keep a pet rattlesnake. Anyway, if you see another snake, take a picture, and post it on here and I'll tell you whether to be concerned or not.

| EEEEEK! I would have done more than peed my pants! I think Gracie would probably have tried to play with it or chase it. She fears nothing, except public performances at puppy school!

| That is so scary. When I walk the babies at the park they always want to go in the weedy area but I am totally scared they will meet a snake there so I totally avoid that area. I don't think they would be scared of a snake. That worries me.

| Thats great that you took them away from it. I saw a website that they bred yorkies.. can't remember the name but one of her yorkies had killed a snake that size and was carrying it around all day. That snake could have killer the yorkie not to mention carrying it around all day there must be so many germs! |

| I hate snakes. Thank God your furbabies are ok. Keep an eye out that it doesn't come back into your yard.

| YUCK! Mojo was sniffing around one day last year, by one of my flower beds. My daughter bent down to see what he was doing and was like, um, mom, there is something black and yellow. I moved a rock from the border and there was a big garter snake there! Mojo definitely wasn't afraid of it. We caught it in a bucket and my DH took it deep into the woods. Now, just two days ago, we were working in the yard and I just happened to look down a few inches in front of me and there was a huge copperhead laying there...thankfully Mojo was behind me. We killed it though because they are poisonous and with Mojo and my little niece and nephew being here, we didn't want that thing around. YUCK!

| We have lots of rattlers around here and I learned from my late husband that if it has a rounded head you don't have to worry. If it's head is triangular, it's poisonous. To me, they're all poisonous and after having a rattler in my kitchen a couple of years ago, I still slam cabinet doors, etc when I'm in there doing anything
