| Hi Amber, Annika did not show problems of having loose stool so am not sure if that is related to her being on her first heat. I am sure someone will be able to answer you though. Sorry am no help . . .but am sure there is nothing to worry about . . take care oh one more thing, Annika's private parts did not get swollen right away so I was skeptic too . . .but don't worry, it will be humoungous soon . . . magnified about 10X LOL Last edited by Tiger's Mom; 06-08-2007 at 12:31 PM. |

YT Addict | Hmmmmm The dried blood means she is in heat, or has a cut down there. Twigs and sticks can do that. Clean the dried blood with a baby wipe or a moist soft cloth. Then check her and see if there is a scratch. If not she is in heat. As for the soft stool its possible that could be a sympom of her heat, but if you have wories about something more serious I would call your vet and find out it can't hurt! |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | thanks you all for responding. I called the vet and he says he's not concerned (go figure as i am freaking out lol) He says the stools could be anything stress, heat, anything isn't to concerned with the giardia. the bolld he says coul be heat or irritation he wants me to keep it clean with a wet wipe. aggghhh he is so frustrating lol. I feel like a total idiot even asking these questions but i thought mabey someone with more experiance would calm my nerves lol. I posted because i couldn't get a hold of my vet and he doesn't seem to be concerned so maybe i shouldn't be either

YT Addict | I hear you Yorkie talk is a wonderful place and No Question is silly. They are all good questions. If your vet isn't concerned I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure your baby is comfy (remember your first time) give lots of cuddles and treats. If I may offer a word of unsolicited advice, New Born baby diapers from the drug store are the easiest way to go through heat. Just cut a hole for her tail and if she tinkles in it through it away. So much easyer than those Pet Diapers cause if they tinkle in it you have to wash it almost every time. Good luck |

| Cozy has been in heat 2 times so far and never had diarrhea. She did get diarrhea for a few days from eating a dead bird. Don't know how she got it but there are loose cats in the neighborhood. I would take your baby to the vet. if the diarrhea is severe (over 5x/day and more than 2 days) and they are not eating and drinking. Hope this helps |

| None of mine have ever had diarrhea with any of their heats. I know what you are going through though, Bailey is in heat and these males are driving me crazy. They act like they have all lost their mind. I will be so glad when she is done. I hope Daisy gets to feeling better soon. |

YT Addict | Get well soon If it makes you feel any better you and your baby are in my prayers and I hope for her to recover quickly. Just remember her heat is like our monthly friend only happening to her. LullaBelle went into Heat 2 times before I had her spayed. We tried the pantie liners but she just kept tinkling in it and it would just be soaked since there was no way for her to tinkle normally. So then I had to wash it and wait for it to dry before I could do anything else.(ps: my house it white not a good combo) She tried to tear the baby diapers off so I Just used to small pieces of masking tape to hold the Velcro in place. Its kinda ghetto but it worked and was so much less hassle. It was so cute she would go into her litter box and squat w/her diaper on. She is such a good girl. Boy am I glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. Are you going to breed her or have her spayed? Any how I hope you both feel better. |
