| Am I Overreacting I am so upset. With this human toothpaste problem going on I decided to make sure that Ellie's isn't made in China. She gets CET (Virbac) Vanilla-Mint. It does not say on their site where the product is made. Another type of Virbac toothpaste is made in the US but that doesn't mean that the ingredients weren't sourced from China. CET gives an 800 number but someone on Itchmo tried calling and the customer service rep. didn't know anything and his manager was out of town. So, now I don't know if there are any dog toothpaste companies that make their products in the US and ger all of their ingredients from the US. I would switch Ellie to baby toothpaste but who knows where that is made. Anyway, when I was on Virbac's website I see a list of products that they make. One product is Pet Tabs (I read that these are contaminated with led) and another product they make is a euthanasia solution. With all the cross contamination going on I have no idea if I should be concerned with that. What if they are made in the same factory? I would probably switch to Petzlife (who knows where that's made) but Ellie has to have her teeth brushed not just rinsed. The vet that did her oral surgery might have a fit if we aren't using actual toothpaste. I am not sure that baking soda works that great either so I really can't use that. What do you all think? I'm overreacting, right?

| With all the pet food recalls and all I came back to making Mitzi's food myself (raw and home cooked mixed) and also went back to her natural "tooth paste" meaning she get's bones to chew on. Since I don't like the mess raw bones make (she NEVER eats them on the blanky I lay down for her ), I dry them in my jerky maker without anything on it and she LOVES them! Also her treats are now home dried beef stripes... Yummi! We share them... |

| The human toothpaste thing is a sort of "recall" of toothpaste made in China. I know that human toothpaste is bad for animals but I think that is only because it has flouride in it and dogs don't spit it out. Is there another reason why it is bad? Baby toothpaste doesn't have flouride in it.

| Mitzis Mom, Ellie gets homecooked now also. I can't believe a couple months ago I thought Science Diet was one of the best thing you could give them.

| Thanks Olivier. I can't believe you found that on there because two of us looked. I hope all of their ingredients are from here though which I doubt.
