| What has your dog swallowed????? Okay this is my first yorkie. Who am I kidding my first dog on my own. There is no daddy in the picture..lol I have been reading post, where some people's yorkies have eaten strange things such as earrings, tampons, coins ect. My baby is a picky eater. If you are cooking and drop something, she will eat about 10% of the time. She only eats dry food, and her half an egg i give her on sundays. I want to dog proof my house to prevent accidents. What has your dog swallowed, so I can watch out. Thanks |

| Haha...mine climb into the bathroom garbage and pull everything out! They also get into the shower and have pulled the caulking out! Oh they think this is the best to run around and play with! Can't think of anything else, other than socks or MY SHOES....I have caught Gemma chewing on cords when I blink....lol As for "dangerous" stuff....Truffles got ahold of that silica gel (or something like that) - that little packet that comes in new shoe boxes! I called poison control but they said she'd be fine I've heard of swallowing coins too. Stuffed animals with eyes or a nose that they can bite off. Ohhh I've heard that dryer sheets are not good for them either?? Well thats about all I've got for now!

BANNED! | I say puppy proof your house like you would for a small child...If they can reach it and put it in their mouth they will possible try to eat it. Sometimes they actually will swallow it so just keep things put up that are small enough to swallow!! |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | LOL, there was a related thread a while back. It was called what has your Yorkie pooped! Hopefully, someone can post the link for you because it was hilarious. Watch short waste baskets. We had to get a covered one to keep Eddie from stealing stuff out of the bathroom trash. Outside, watch everything. Eddie eats sticks, which can't be easy to digest. He and Jack also gobble up every stray chicken bone they see at the park.

| Dryer Sheets Emmy's favorite is dryer sheets! I am sure they are not good for her; it is a race around our house to get it back!

| Kalani chewed off the corner of one of my window blinds. It was a pretty jagged piece and he cried and went off his food for a day and then passed it. I didn't realize he'd swallowed it till I saw it in his poop

I now have lids on my bathroom trash cans. I had space bags under the bed, Max chewed them, letting the air out. I had a heck of a time getting them out from under the bed. When ever hubby comes home, he enters through the garage & shuts the outside door. He gets ready to come in & they all run into the garage to greet him. I keep the floor clean there also. I got rid of all my live plants so I don't have to worry about them getting a leaf that might fall off.

YT 5000 Club Member | I would say what have they not ate! LOL My other dog that we had Gidget, we kept her in our bedroom while we were at work. We put up a half door with a latch that was made of a thick piece of wood. Gidget ate a hole in the bottom of that door! I would never have thought she would have done that! Chloe and Bentley will eat anything too!

| Kelsey got a hold of a wooden fan (wedding favor for an outdoor wedding) when I wasn't looking and chewed a few peices off. Well she came up to me like she was choking and then she started drinking a lot of water to try and push whatever it was in her throat down, and even ate. Well hours went by and she seemed to have gotten worse. She was in pain and salivating a lot, but was still pretty awake and seemed ok...this was on a sunday when the regular vet was closed (of course! ) so i called the emergency vet and expalined her symptoms and they said to just keep a good eye on her and wait until the morning. So i went to the vet in the a.m. and they said she had a peice of wood stuck in her back tooth and it was scraping her tounge really bad every time she swallowed... so i could only imagine the pain she must have been in! So they had to put her under and take it out.. the vet said she hasnt seen a tounge that beat up in a while... good thing i went to the vet and they found it. She is ok now.. but geesh what a scare!

| What hasn't my dogs eaten? Alyssa is a picky eater. As a puppy she ate the ends of furniture...especially my curio cabinet. She never ate much out of the oridnary. Emily Kate on the other hand is a one girl wrecking team. She constantly chews on something. She has eaten holes in the plaster walls so large that she can get inside the walls. (How do I know she did it?...the plaster is all over her mouth and face) She does not even look innocent. She loves fruits like grapefruit, watermelon, strawberries, etc. She eats fabric and pieces of paper. She loves to shred paper and then eat it. She has eaten wooden sticks, doors, door frames, molding...she is truly a one girl wrecking team. My husband has threatened to put a muzzle on her. (He is just kidding.) He can't get the house repaired as fast as she eats it. I hope she outgrows this chewing soon. I try to keep her in dingo bones and treats and toys to chew on. They help but she still chews on our walls, etc. |

| JD ate liquid silver. My husband used it for something on his computer and it was in the basement. J is not allowed in the basement, but he got down there one day and ate the tube. We had to rush him to the vet and they put charcoal down his throat into his stomach to absorb the silver. He was fine after that. It was so scarey. |
