| Yep!!!! sure doo!!! Even short could still get all matted up under the arms and around the face!!! I made that mistake the 1st puppy cut. I thought- oh yea not as much work!!! Wrong. Next visit he had to be shaved all the way down. He looked like a rat!!! You don't have to brush as much, but still once a day and its much, much easier!!! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I would - it gets them used to being brushed... and you also aren't fighting matts or tangles.....so they aren't fighting YOU ! |

| I brush Rams 2 to 3 times a day, but thats because he loves it. He will run and get his brush and drag it to me when he wants it. |

| Here's a question... What kind of brush do you guys recommend from puppyhood on up? I got Tucker one of those 2-for-1 brushes that has the metal on one side and the bristles on the other but the metal just seems so harsh! His hair is still way too thin for me to comfortably use that and the bristle side only seems to rearrange his top coat and doesn't get underneath. Granted there really isn't much "underneath" there now because he's so little but when he gets older, there's gonna be a lot of "underneath" there! |

| I use the double sided ones as well...but now I end up just using a comb to go through the hair and then trying to grab the brush and using the soft bristle part just to smooth it |

| ....most definitely. Brushing is apart of our nightly ritual, right before bedtime. My comet just got his first professional grooming this past saturday and we love it. It's a great westie cut! his hair was so long that it definitely needed brushing every day. Now with his movie star hair cut he does'nt need brushing, but he sure does love it!!

| Maggie is 14 weeks old. I brush her everyday. I was using a small slicker brush, but those little wire bristles seem so harsh. I started using a man's pocket comb. She doesn't mind that at all. Figured when she gets more hair, then the slicker brush will be put to good use.
