Guppy the puppy! Well, we've had our little guy for a little over a week now and wow! We couldn't be happier. He's about 13 weeks old and pretty much trained already. We have a small litter box with newspapers inside for "just in case" but he does very well holding out until we can get him to the yard. He goes to work with me everyday and is passed around to all the customers who come in so he is getting very socialized! I own a saltwater aquarium store and everybody loves how he barks at the fish that swim by tries to bat them with his paw. When I get too busy to have him right with me he loves his bed and all his toys. I put him in my office where he just plays and sleeps until it's time to come back out and visit! He's getting along great with Bailey, my 100 lb. golden retriever but is definitely pushing for "alpha dog." He loves the pool, although I had to rescue him the other day when I was playing with Bailiey and told him to "jump." Well, Guppy jumped right after him! Geez! This little guy has no fear! He loves the frisbee, although I can't find one small enough for him just yet. He still chases it and pounces on it in the yard which is a riot to watch. Here are a few pics of our great little guy hanging in his bed in my office with some of his toys: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...o/100_1407.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...o/100_1411.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...o/100_1413.jpg

Thanks:) So far he is just fantastic! He loves those little beds you see him in. He has several...one at work, one at home, one in his "car seat." I crate him for a few hours a day and he never complains...just seems to think it's nap time and settles in. I got him a Coleman bear rug tonight and he LOVES it! Cuddles right up to it and out he goes. Even when he's out on the porch, he treats his bed like a den and always takes his toys into it to play. If he stays this good I'll sure be happy! I was prepared for lots worse after reading about the breed (goldens are very easy to train and that's what I've been used to...this is my first small, non-golden dog

| Guppy is ADORABLE. he sounds a lot like my maggie. i was expecting a LOT worse but she is a little angel. i have been waiting for the rude awakening but here we are at 7.5 months old and she is still such a good doggie. i just couldn't be happier. i am like you...I am used to great danes...they are a lot different than these little guys, as I am sure goldens are. but i have been very pleasantly surprised and just could not be more thrilled. congrats on your baby and I am so happy you can take him to work with you. I also have that privelage and maggie goes EVERYWHERE i go. if she is not welcomed, then count me out she is such a sweetheart and everywhere we go, everyone loves her. what's not to love, anyway?? can't wait to see more pics! you need to show us some pics of him with the fish

I agree! Love the name! I don't think you are being setup. My Adie must have a HUGE bladder because she was paper trained pretty quickly. Seems like she goes in spurts sometimes. We may have a few days in a row of missing the paper. I've never had a dog that learned commands as fast as she does. (Teach Guppy to "drop it" asap!) Good luck and congratulations with that adorable puppy! </IMG>

Thanks all! Thanks for all the kind words! Since this is my first yorkie, I'm still learning. He was born Valentine's Day so he's about 13 weeks now. I'm not really that concerned about color and such as I will keep him clipped as we are very outdoor oriented, but does his coat look like he'll color up with the blue and gold? I was trying to follow along with the markings for his age, but pretty much gave up! His papers say he is blue and gold.
