| Two homes? I fear that I am a thoughtless mommy I have two "homes." I have an apartment with my boyfriend, but a lot of times I stay with my family, because they live closer to where I work and it makes driving affordable for me ( it is an hour's difference in the commute!) Paddington has thus far lived at my family's house, and is really used to his routine here. Training has been going smoothly, and he's learned where all of his stuff is. I have had him here for almost a week. Now I am packing him up to go stay at my apartment. It is a large apartment, but not as big as my family's house of course. I think the harder thing will be the fact that there aren't any people there besides my boyfriend and me. I have a large family, so there are always quite a few people here to play with him and give him attention. He'll have to be crated more often, which actually he likes and he even stays in his crate when the door is open. But still, I'm afraid it is too many changes when he just got used to this other home. On the other hand, he seems to be a quick adjuster. He's very smart, and I'm sure that after a few days in the apartment he'll generalize his training. I'm also thinking that maybe with less people, he'll be less distracted and hyper. Training him might be much easier without all the traffic that goes through my family's house. I'm just concerned. We'll see how he does. -O |

| I don't think it will bother him too much...and you are definitely not a bad mommy! He'll be fine, it will probably just take him a few days to get used to his new surroundings, and then everything will get back to normal. It will help a lot that he likes his crate so much! Good luck!

| Good Luck. I got Laney in January of 04 when she was 6wks old from the shelter and we lived in an apt with 3 roommates then when she 4mnths old we moved to a new apt by ourselves stayed there for two wks then moved back home to live with mom while finishing school. I think Laney is a more laid back and flexible dog because she had so much transition her first few months. Im sure paddington will be just fine. |

| I don't think it will bother him either - he will have you as a constant and although there will be less activity, I think he will be OK. Now, I can see him bugging you all A LOT to play, if he is used to having someone to play with him all the time. Good luck!

| I'm glad it doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal. He seems to be fine with it! LOL, yes he has been bugging me all morning to play!!! He is so cute though, and I love having him here to play with; I'm glad about that! I live in the city, and my family lives in a small town about an hour out, so I am used to knowing everyone. I get lonely in the city because it's harder for someone as shy as me to meet people. I love giving him all the attention he wants!!! The only problem is, if for whatever reason (ie, I'm eating breakfast) I can't play ruough and tumble games with him, he rebels by peeing on the floor to get my attention. This morning he walked to his pee pad, sniffed it, came back to me, squated RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, and peed. At my family's, as long as he was able to make it to the pad he would pee on it. Oh well; it's a learning process for both of us!!! I'm going to take him for a walk in the park and hopefully that will get some of his energy out! -O |

| My two go with us everywhere. We have a house in Edmond, and one in Midwest City. During the school year we stay primarily in Edmond, but during the summer we stay in both places for days at a time. The doggies don't have any problem adjusting to both houses, and even though the house in Midwest City is smaller, and more of a vacation type home so they are confined more if we leave for a few hours. . . this doesn't bother them at all.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Don't worry about it. It's like I have 2 homes also. I live with my mom but I also sleep at my bf's house for days at a time and wherever I go my two go with me. They know both homes and they love both places. They love going to my bf's cause his apt. is real big and they have tons of room to run around but they love it at my house also because my mom is there and spoils them. All their stuff are there also. They have toys and food at both places. I don't think it will bother yours at all. I think he will get accustomed to it. I also take mine when I go to my brother's house upstate, my dad's house in LI and I'm going to take them to Florida and Puerto Rico They are travelers like me.

Wow, it sounds like your situation is almost identical to mine! I'm glad that the change in enviroments doesn't bother them! I was really worried last night as we were driving into the city... -O
