| Yorkie are supposed to be good for allergic people. as far as i know that is true. my mom is a major asthmatic and so is my husband, my sisters have really bad allergies and none of them have it around the dogs. I know i told all of them even if they did get allergies from the dogs that they better find there own way to fix it cuz my babies aint going nowhere.I ofcourse say thing joking but still mean it..lol. good luck with helping him with his allergies.

| I have asthma & severe allergies. I did notice even though the dogs I have chosen do not shed, the more I have gotten I am having a little more problems. I can't touch them & bring my hands to my eyes without them swelling up & getting red. I bought stock in Visine A. I do wash my hands a lot after handeling & cuddling with them. My breathing is about the same, except after bathing. I bath all 3 once a week & take them to the groomers every 8 weeks. If I clean their pads inbetween I have had to use my inhailer. I love then so much, a little problems don't seem so bad. I am deathly allergic to cats or large dogs that shed. Last time I took care of my sisters cats in her home, I ended up in the ER. So I avoid homes with other animals. P.S. I didn't mention that the groomer can't use perfumed sprays or smelly shampoos. That was affecting me also. Use gentle shampoos with no smells, it helps.

| I guess it depends on the person. My hubby has asthma and allergies, were if he visits my mom's house with her cats and dogs his eyes swell and his breathing gets bad. He cuddles and sleeps with Gypsy and no problem. Thank goodness. He would suffer for me and Gypsy cause as he says she's my heart, but I would hate for him to have to.
