how old is he?? puppies sleep A LOT!!! Layla is 14 months, some days she sleeps the WHOLE day.. especially if we ar ein the car.... but other days she is playing all day.. i find it balances out... today she is at work with me and my parents so she is napping and just laying around a lot... i also find she sleeps a lot more in the winter and now that it is spring... she is FULL of energy one day.. and needs the next day to recoup

Unless your playing with them they don't usually play alone very long so they just lay around and nap. It isn't good to let them do this day after day. They need to get out for walks and visits to stores and parks. Kind of like having little kids.............not good to keep them in the house all the time.

Unless I am sitting down, Autumn does not sleep at all during the day. She follows me everywhere. If I sat down and she got in my lap she is instantly curled up and out cold. It is very cute!!!!

oh he's just a pup... sleeping like that is totally normal, but like Yorkiedaze said, if you don't play with them.. they tend to nap.. Layla is like that! but because he is so young i think it is completely normal. he should be a tired guy tonight and tomorrow after having his shots!!

If I'm home Buddy is up my BUTT! He never relaxes always looking for me. When I go to work, 5days a week, he sleeps all day. He will sleep all night and not get up until I do no matter what time it is. There are times I open one eye slowly because he is under my face waiting for my eyes to open so he can break loose. He has learned that if my eyes are closed don't bother her or she gets misreble! Last edited by ARCHIE; 05-17-2007 at 12:11 PM.

| I always feel bad when Max naps a lot during the day because I know he's just bored. I try to walk with him for an hour every day, and play with him a couple of times during the day for a while. I really want another dog so that he's not alone. I want a little girl, but not until after the summer.

Jake takes naps, but he really doesn't sleep as much as he used to. He's 10 months old now, and he's too nosey to sleep. He might miss something. I think they do sleep alot, especially when they're puppies, but just make sure he gets enough exercise, playing with toys, taking walks, going outdoors, etc.
