| Help! What do I do I was offered a two year old two pound yorkie for free. The women is a breeder and said she won't sell her because she has a gimpy back leg. I asked if she could still go for walks and get around. She said she gets around just fine. She can jump on beds and couches. She can run like crazy. Should I just wait and get a one in perfect health, or should I take her. Help Please. |

| I'd go see the dog and see if the woman will allow you to take her to the vet. A free Yorkie is a wonderful thing, I know because I got lucky enough to get one! |

| You know that you would give her a wonderful home, if you've met her and she's a good dog, (what yorkie isn't ) I would definitly take her. I'm sure the breeder just doesn't want to pass anything along like a bad knee in her line, I congratulate her for that. If that is all that is wrong with her, I would go for it...

| I would take her in a heartbeat. The only thing I would worry about is if it would affect her health - require lots of expensive vet visits.

| I'm going to see her later, and as long as it's not life threatining I'm go to scoop her up, and take her home. I'll call her mini moo-moo as a nickname. If she doesn't have a name she really knows I'm going to call her Lady Gwenevere, and Gwen for short. Do you like it. I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself till the woman calls me back with the time I can come, and get her. WHOO HOO! I'm gonna have a Yorkie baby. I'm already looking online for some cute clothes for her. I have 7 days to get her checked out by my vet. He knows I take in all the wayward animals, so this won't be any surprise to him. I'm looking for a pattern to make her a little carrier that I can carry in front of me like the ones you carry a baby in. My mom made a doll bed years ago, and I've held on to it. Now I have a job for it. It's white with lilac flowers, lilac bedding, and a white canopy top. However, if she wants to sleep with me that will be ok to, I just wouldn't want to squash her. She's potty trained, so of course I'll have to get her a raincoast, and a nice furry one for the cold winter days. Maybe if I can find a pattern I'll make one with a hood. Sorry to ramble, but I'm so excited. |

| I would get her. I would make sure she does not have LP. But even so that is tratable with surgery. A yorkie for free is a good deal. A 2lb yorkie for free is even a better deal. They usually cost more.

| Lp Find out the problem...Luxation Patella or Legg Perthes...bad knees in a tiny rarely needs surgery, Legg Perthes does and it runs about $500/900, depending on area. |

| You sound soooo excited and I'm excited for you. My guess is you will know if you should take her when you see her. I'm betting you take her. Can't wait to hear for sure though!
