Wet Face!! HI everyone- Just wondering if anyone could tell me if it is normal for puppies to have a "wet face"?? Dolce's face always looks like she has been crying or dunking her face in a bowl of water. Is this the norm? Plus the hair on her nose does not seem to be growing...she is going to be 16 weeks this Friday. I have tried washing her face with a cotton ball, but it doesnt seem to do anything. Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with Dolce?? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm not sure about the hair on the nose growing, but sometimes their face does look a bit wet when they are younger. Do you clean the eye gunk off of the area around Dolce's eyes? That part is pretty much always wet, but if you clean it a few times a day, it looks a bit better.

Well, thank you for the compliments. I try, but I am far from knowing everything there is to know about Yorkies. I usually use a wet cloth (like a face cloth) and just clean the areas around his eyes, and clean around the mouth area too.

I would use a face cloth too but not sure if her face should be that wet? You may possibly ask your vet to check her eye ducts? nothing serious but I rarely wipe Gypsy Rose and Gizie's face? May be a minor problem that could be put right or maybe it is normal for her?

Yeah I was wondering the same thing Gypsy Rose...I thought her face shouldnt be that wet either. I think the next time i go to the vet, which is in about a week, I will ask him about it. He has never mentioned anything to me in the last 2 visits, but maybe he hasnt noticed. Mothers notice EVERYTHING! In the meantime, I will wipe her face with the wet cloth and see what happens. Thanks you guys!!!

Hah, thanks Dolce's Mom! Is her face wet around the nose? Or just from the eye ducts? Or around the mouth? If you can take a picture of her wet face, perhaps some of the other experts here can analyze it for ya.

Let us know what the vet says. It is always helpful to hear in case we encounter this problem. I wipe my dogs eyes out with water and cottom ball every morning and that seems to do it. Every once in a while I might have to do it again in the evening, but not too often. Pat
