| Registered through DRA Hey guys im new to this site and have had my yorkie (whiskey) for about 6 months. I got his paperwork through DRA (Dog Registry of America) I guess it was formally known as UKC (United kenel Club). I have his pedegree that shows his parents and grandparents all purebred yorkies. I was wondering if many other people are registered through DRA? I know AKC is the most popular in the US so if I was to stud him one day how hard would it be to find a mate that reconizes the same registry? |

| Ive never even heard of DRA. Im sorry. Are they just like AKC? I know the second poster said they werent as good. If they register dogs somewhat the same way I dont see what the problem is with it. Its just not well known. And maybe you can switch to akc or something if it isnt as good. Ive heard of other people asking about switching. I dont know if its poosible from DRA or not but maybe it is. Last edited by natalienicole; 05-09-2007 at 01:33 PM. |

| http://www.dogpapers.com/ formerly us kennel club seems like a side registration not a major registration like akc akc is the best reg. you can reg a akc dog anything else also but you cannot reg a non akc to akc it has to be in the family like mom n dad are akc welcome to yt also

| Thanks for the warm welcome and the info. I will post pics of Whiskey when I get off work, he is the cutest little pimpstud of all time!! To me he is hehe . I did a little bit of research but havent really found much on DRA. But im guessing if I bred Whiskey with another registered dog ie AKC, it would have to be registered through DRA? |

| YES same here. My Izzy is pure yorkie as well. Here dad is AKC but her mom was CKC, so she has to be CKC. Nothing wrong with her at all, but AKC won't accept a CKC register. So when I breed her I will have to find a CKC stud.
