| Chowie & Lowie's First Flight Coming Up... Hi everyone! Lowie and Chowie will be flying with La_Man and I Memorial Day weekend on Sun Country. It cost us $75/each way per dog aka $150/dog round trip. OY! Interestingly enough, on SC's website they don't have a rule in regards to your dog having an up-to-date health certificate. However I would hate to get to the airport and they or the TSA are like, "Sorry, your pets are not allowed w/o one." So I am taking them to the vet the weekend before the flight. Our flight is going to be a little less than 2 hours and I'm a little nervous about this. Does anyone have suggestions as far as what to do about food and water before and during the flight? I don't want to dehyrdate them but I don't want them to be sick either. I know some airline staff, thanks to all the YT posters sharing their experiences , are militant about not letting them out and some are more lenient. Thanks in advance for your advice! NYMP P.S. Do you recommend giving them edible chew toys during the flight?

| They don't need a health certificate unless your traveling outside the US. Call the airline company and ask. When I flew with mine, they didn't need one and this is what I was told. A two hr. flight is quick, and I don't see that you would have any problem. Enjoy yourselves. |

We are going to MN, my home state for the holiday. My dad recently got engaged so we are visiting with him and his new fiance. Getting to know her better and welcoming her into the family.

| airlines have rules against "knocking them out". i flew to Los Angles a few months ago on Continental. I had a health certificate to give to the new owner. when I checked in for my flight i told them I had it. they didn't look but told me to keep it handy just in case someone asked for it. They shouldn't need food or water for a two hour trip BUT, it is nice to have some onhand incase your flight gets delayed or something. i put a baggie of dry kibble down in the side of my carrier along with a tube of Nutracal. But I had a long flight. I also took a pee pad. i was not allowed to take her from the carrier but could hold the carrier on my lap once we took off. i unzipped it and petted her while she was in the crate. do they know you are flying with two dogs? Some only allow one dog per crate andd only two dogs at a time in the cabin. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Flying We just flew to Texas & they did ask for the Health Certificate when we were leaving Tx back to MO. On AA you could have 2 in 1 carrier & pay only the 80. each way - you didn't have to double it. Kay
