| jealous??? Lately, Maggie gets very angry when I pet my other dog, a cocker spaniel. She isn't playing...she is ANGRY. she growls and attacks the hand that is petting daisy. She bites very hard. I have been getting on to her and saying "no bite" and she will stop but she will step back and start barking...or she will go and get one of her stuffed toys and ATTACK it. I mean, full fledge kill the thing. she will be shaking it rabidly and barking while it is in her mouth. It is really very funny I am working with her to get her to stop biting when I pet the other dogs..in fact daisy is getting more love now than she ever has because I constantly pet her in an effort to teach maggie a lesson. It's wild. does any of your yorkies do this? It is crazy how jealous she is!!!! poor stuffed toys LOL

| Does Maggie get along with Daisy when you are NOT petting Daisy? Do they play together? Do you think they may need to spend more time with each other? |

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | Sorry no advice...all of mine share time with me. I have Duke my Yorkie9 months, Jinx a one year old Rat terrier, Coco, a 13 year old terrier/mix, and Lakota, a 2 year old rott. They all play together, except Coco, she's getting cranky now that shes older. Duke loves to make her mad. Sorry...no advice to give.

| Yorkie's can be very possessive. My two are constantly doing things to pull attention from the other. Tiger, although he doesn't attack, lays on top of Rhapsody, so I can't reach her, only him. It's funny, and she doesn't really mind, lol, although sometimes if she's tired of him stealing the attention she will jump up beside me and 'protect' me from him. She can get really mean to him at that time. I just put a stop to it, and make it clear that whoever is the aggressor doesn't get attention, and when they are playing nice I lavish attention on them both. Good luck!

| Autumn is very fresh to Dakota (my pug). If she is sitting on my lap or next to me and Dakota just jumps up to be pet, Autumn will try to bite Dakota in the face. I started putting her down on the floor next to him when she does that. It is not very nice. But if they are both laying on the floor she would not even consider doing this to him. Maybe it is a control thing! |
