| Ahh, the good old days... How many of you with Yorkies around 6 month to a year old, read some of the super-new owners (12 to 20 week old pups) post and can remember the "good old days"? I laugh at how upset some of us get (because I know of at least 20 times when I was ready to throw in the towel!) Even today, I sometimes think that Cali isn't progressing as fast as I wish she would, then I read a post about a YT'er and their Yorkie not sleeping at night and I realize, wow, Cali doesn't do that anymore. Or I'll read how their pup is over-active, and I realize, wow, Cali is starting to slow down A LITTLE BIT. Or I'll hear frustration over potty issues and them not listening and I realize that Cali and I have made quite a few strides over the last four months. Slowly but surely, she is getting a little easier, listening more, not as many pottying accidents. I guess what I am trying to say to the newbies is just hold on. Things do get better.

| A good reminder for us newbie yorkie owners to enjoy puppyhood...as exhausting and frustrating as it is.

| Too be honest, I wished Buddy's first year away! I could not wait until he passed puppyhood, that's sad isn't it? Sorry but it's true. The only thing I miss is the puppy smell and his little fat fluffy body. Everything else was prue hard never ending work I have no idea how so many of you have 2&3&4&5. Buddy is a bigger Yorkie so you can say he is 3 in 1 body. Today he is fun, loving, clever, smart, and trained. Maybe it's my age (?) but I could never go through puppyhood again. I hope that dosen't make me a bad mommy just an honest one. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm with Buddy's mommy. I can't imagine having more than one at a time! My hat's off to those of you who can wangle it. I love the Oz man, probably more than I ever have any other animal, and he was an adorable baby, too. It took YEARS to get him to a good point. (The running joke is that if he were a real boy, he would ride the short bus to school.) It's probably more my fault than his though. In any case, while I firmly believe there is nothing cuter than a Yorkie puppy, I don't know if I could do it again. I always cringe when I read the posts from newbies (especially the housebreaking and poop-eating ones) and it makes me so grateful he is grown! But, as he is soon to be 10, I know that my time with him is limited. So I guess if I HAD to endure housebreaking all over again and continue to deal with his occasional barking fits I'd do it -- if it would buy me some more time with him. |

| I sure do remember it like it was yesterday when i got Rocky he didnt let me sleep for two nights in a row him crying all night all he wanted was to be in the same room as me and i had him in the bathroom with his little gate i feel like such a bad mommy thinking back. But i didnt know any better it's my first so we all make mistakes but that's what YT is for. My baby is 1yr and 1 month actually this month on the 13th makes 1yr that i got him.

| I guess I've been really lucky with Jake because I really miss his puppyhood. He hasn't given me even a moment's frustration since I got him. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I must have been lucky too - I loved ALL stages ...from the little crazy puppy chewing on pee pads and dragging them all over the house....to the now 5 & 3 year old perpetual little toddlers with HAIR that I have running around stalking my every move. I just can't imagine my life without them |
