| I crate trained w/o litter box. I had some short nights in the beginning, but she gained bladder control early on. I'm sure others here will have some other ideas. Good luck. And, btw pppfffgggkkkk

I crate trained Sam. He has a large crate that has plenty of room for play, potty, and food for when he is in it during the day. At night he does not have accidents. He does go all day (sometimes) but I dont expect him to hold it!!!

| I have crate trained 2.... and have had no problem at all with either..... I have a small crate.... but seems huge to a 1.5 lb dog... I leave it right beside my bed ..... the first 2 nights he woke me to potty but after that not a word.... he has never had an accident in his crate.... the whole purpose of crate training is to teach them to hold potty... and not go in their living area.... It also depends on where your pup was raised.... if it is petstore or a breeder that keeps them in a cage or crate and never lets them out then they will not know the difference at your house... then you would want to use the pen in addition to the crate with the door open to encourage him to go outside the pen to potty ..... then slowly start closing the door to retrain him.... Good Luck... and enjoy ... the time will fly by.... they will never be puppies again.... |
