| A Stiff little one! I saw a Yorkie the other day that seemed to very stiff. Diesel is very laid back and when I cradle him he just relaxes. This little guy was very stiff. If I rubbed him while he was on the ground he was very stiff. I am not sure how else to describe it. He just wasn't very flexible if that makes any sense. When you held him he didn't seem to know how to cuddle. He is VERY well taken care of and VERY pampered so I know it isn't because he has been mistreated.I was jsut wondering if maybe this was normal with some Yorkies or if there was some other explanation. I am not sure how else to describe it. He isn't skinny at all. He weighs in at 6 pounds maybe a tab bit more. Any ideas?

| When I pick up Piper, she's the same way. She doesn't like to be held unless she chooses to jump in your lap. She'll stiffen right up when you pick her up. My other 2 love being cuddled. She's just my tomboy.

| I think it can be a personality thing. Chloe goes limp as a dishrag when you try to get her out of her kennel in the morning. You have to walk away and let her come out on her own, because she will get to the very back and go limpppp so that you can't pick her up easily. |

| Well actually he doesn't really stiffen up only at certain times. He is stiff all the time. I have never known him not to be stiff. I guess it might be just a personality thing.

| My little guy Tigger, who passed in October was like that. I thought it was actually more to do with his bone structure. He was a skinny, wiry little guy. He still just loved to be held and cuddled, but his little body was always "stiff", not flexible like his little mate Spanky. |

He does seem to have somewhat of a roach back now that I think about his bone structure. Not sure if this would have anything to do with it tho. His hair also doesn't seem to grow very fast. It isn't very soft actually kind of hard. Maybe I am not using the right term.. His body is hard like. He has a round little body that is rather hard to the touch. THis might be a better way of describing it. It could just be bone structure like you said.

| Chattie will stiffen up if anyone except me touches her -- she is MY PRINCESS and is above being touched by anyone else. The rest of the Yorkie kids kinda melt when you pick them up. |

| I know what you are talking about. I have seen dogs who make their bodies stiff when picked up....I think it has to do with their personalities...

| Sachi is that way. If we pick him up he is very stiff and has this look of dread in his eyes LOL. He is in no way abused, he couldnt be more loved and he is very playful, just doesnt want to be held.??.
