shedding? Buddy has been shedding little tufts of hair for the last two or three weeks. Not long hair, but just little fuzzy pieces. I notice it because my carpet is white and the hair is black. He doesn't appear to be bald anywhere. In fact, his coat is nice and thick. He is 14 months old. Question is: Do they shed in the Springtime? Is he losing puppy hair? Or, could it be something else?

| Can you see any areas of missing hair on his ears, muzzle or tail. Brandy had a case of leather ear a while back and lost a lot of hair from her ears. It came out in little tufts and the skin became black. I could gently pull on it and it would come out in my hands.

I don't see any indication of missing hair. Muzzle, tail and ears all look okay. He scratches a lot, but more on the body. But, those little fuzzies are all over the place.

I noticed the same thing yesturday after i gave Cooper a bath....when I brushed him it was like he was shedding. I have never seen that much hair come out and it was from all over not just one area. The only thing I thought of was that they shed somewhat in the spring but Im not sure. I look forward to hearing others replies. Cooper is almost 10 months.

Watch him very very closely and you will see why your finding tufts of hair. He's grooming himself and pulling it out. My Azrael does this too.
