We had to have our little girl put to sleep... Our family is in shock, we had to have 1 of Missys babies but to sleep yesterday, she was only 4 1/2 weeks old. We cant believe it she was playing with her sister and brother and had been wagging her tail right up till we had to leave her with the vet. I had noticed over 2 days that she had been straining badly to pass her stools, and i never seen her pass anything, I thought I might just have missed it because her mommy has been cleaning up after them so good. Anyway yesterday I brought her to the vet. We seen a nurse first and explained what was wrong with her and she brought her into the vet. After 10 mins the vet came out with little trixie (thats what we named her), I knew right away there was somthing not right. He told us, me and my 15yro daughter, that trixie was born with no hole in her bottom to pass anything, we still cant believe it. He says that this condition is very rare. I didnt even catch the name for this as you can imagine we were in a terrrible state. I asked if he could not make a hole. But he says that this was'nt an option as she would not have the muscles in her bottom to contract herself to control her toilet. he said that she would be double incontinent and that her womb would be also affected. We just cant get her outta our minds, it is so hard, especilay when she was so happy with us. Missy is doing fine to be honest I dont even think she nos that her baby has passed away.

I am so sorry - yes, I have heard of this....it is like cleft palate, just a fault, though I'd have thought they could at least try to do something So sorry - at least she was happy to the end, and did not suffer any pain, as she would have done if she had gone on another day or so, being unable to pass anything ! I pray my Tammy's puppy/ies are ok when they arrive. She is day 43 now. Debra x x x x

That's a new one on me for sure, and I'm deeply sorry you are going thru this horrible painful time. Did you bring her home to bury her?
