| whats wrong with her? :-( this morning i went to go let Pebbles out of her crate. usually when i let her out she goes running full speed for the door to go out and go potty. but i opened the door and started to walk away when i realized that she hadnt moved. when i went to check on her she was just wiggling around in her cage. i went to touch her to pick her up and she screamed like she was in pain. i finally was able to pick her up without hurting her but her leg was kind bent a weird way. she was wiggling and hit her paw against my hand and screamed and then i heard a pop. her leg looked like normal again. she then let me touch it, rub it, move it, and it didnt cause her any pain. and now shes running around like crazy like nothing happened. any ideas of what could have happened? she has an appointment at 10:30 at her vet for her shots.. so im gonna have her check this too, but i was wondering if you guys had any ideas on this. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wonder if she has a luxating patella - and perhaps it had a major pop? I'm sure others know much more than I do about the patella issues - and I'm sure they'll give great advice. So sorry your baby was hurting - that is so scary! Best of health to your little one, Ann |

| If it was a back leg and once you heard the "pop" and she started moving around again, it sounds like Luxating Patella. Hope the vet can shed some more light on it!!

| I agree.... our toy poodle had this and I learned how to pop his joint back into place whenever it did that. He never cried in pain but he would start hopping with his leg up and I knew that's what the problem was. He never had surgery because it only became pronounced when he got overweight (from living next to my grandparents and them over-feeding him during the day). Once we moved away and got him on a diet, he lost the weight and then only very rarely had those episodes. Good luck at the vet.

| i just got back from the vet. she did a check on it and found that it seems to be her shoulder joint (front right leg) but there doesnt seem to be anything seriously wrong. she said she may have just jammed it (like we jam our fingers) but to keep an eye on it and if it happens again well do xrays. other than that... everythings checked out good and shes done with shots for a while... yay! |

| I don't anything about the luxating pettla. But I have a few little dogs. Some days we just have a bad leg day. They will limp around. I check the leg/foot out and can't find anything. By the next day it's fine again. I can only imagine what they did. If it lasted longer than a day I guess I would get it checked out. But my babies do this all the time.
