| Walks in the park I am getting my yorkie when she'll be 10 weeks old and I was wondering when can I take her out on a harness. When she becomes 4 months old and gets her rabies shot or earlier? Also is it safe for her to go out wit me in a carrier before she is allowed to go out on a harness? And is it ok to have a puppy diaper on her when she's in the carrier? |

| I wasnt sure about taking my puppy out on a harness either bc she hadnt received all of her shots, but I checked with the vet and he said it was okay even though she hadnt received her rabies. I would definitley check with your vet before you do anything! |

| Good question- I was wondering the same thing about taking a young puppy with you in a carrier if they aren't fully vacinated. |

| I have been taking Chewy out in his carrier - even to the vet's office- and they say it's fine. The problem is putting them down on the ground where germies are. I remember taking my pug out before he got his rabies and he was fine. |

| According to my vet you can take the puppies out a week after their last vaccination (the one they get 3 of..I think it is Depo???...someone help) but anyways...even if the rabies hasn't been finished yet and they have those 3 they should be okay. Maximus is getting his 3rd tonight (14 weeks)....hip hip hooray...I think I will let him out for a little while Memorial day...oh and I take him out in a carrier now..just as long as they don't play with other dogs until they are vaccinated and don't lick or eat of the sidewalk/grass they should be fine going out in the carrier..just hold them |

| I just carry my little Coco everywhere. Sometimes she will sit in her purse when we go shopping but for the most part im holding her. I NEVER put her down. But I made the mistake of putting her on the grass last week a couple of times, for just a minute or two, to go potty. I didn't know you can't put them down. It was infront of my parents yard though and we don't have any other dogs. I hope she doesn't get sick. I haven't seen any signs of anything and she just had some more shots..yay. can't wait till it's done. |

PS your baby looks like a little cutie. I love how they look like tiny Rotties when they are that young! | |

| My vet allows you to take your dogs out on a harness out of their yard after 3rd set of shots. I don't see anything wrong in keeping them in a carrier because they would not be touching the ground or anything. I waited to take my girl out untill she had all her shots though because she is 2lbs and I didn't want to take any chances so its really up to you.
