| Peeing on my rug!!! Chewy has been secretly peeing on my area rug. I would pick him up and his little pecker would be wet but I never knew where he was doing it. Well today I found out. There have been a few accidents so I am thinking of just taking it to the cleaners. Will this take out the smell or will he just keep going back to the marked spots? Also someone did a post a while back about a homemade potion with peroxide that gets the smell out. I can't find it in the search. Will someone post this recipe? Thanks |

| How old is your Yorkie? My little guy is 12 weeks old. He pees on my rugs too. It's hard to see the pee spots. I have to feel around for the wet spots. When I find one I spray some Nature's Miracle on them. I got it at Petsmart. I'm working hard on the house training but I think he just has accidents because of his age. He goes outside several times in the morning and at night. He sleeps in a playpen inside during the day when I'm at work. It has one of those puppy pads in it. He goes on that. Good luck. |

| Yes,,, why is it that they always pick rugs?? I have often wondered! Ya I posted the MAGIC potion ! haha and it works,,, I would try it ,,, here it is..... 1 regular bottle of hydrogen peroxide (can remember the oz.) 1 teaspoon dawn dish soap ( any brand will prob. work but all i have used is Dawn) 1 tablespoon baking SODA Mix together and pour on spots or squirt in squirt bottle,,, ( Id pour it on, since ya know where the spots are) Let it dry (totally) then vacuum up... Smell will be gone! It says to do a test spot, but I have never had any problems on anything I have used it on! Good Luck let me know how it turns out.

| Dawn has a lot of good uses. Used as a shampoo on dogs, it will kill fleas. We mix it with vinegar and water to make a fly spray for our horses - works great. I have also been told vinegar would take the odor out of rugs. Have not tried it, usually use nature's miracle. I am going to try the peroxide mixture. Thanks |

| Welcome to the club! I just finished shampooing my family room rug. I ended up buying a steam cleaner because of the rug accidents! The thing is that the entire area in our familyroom and breakfast nook is all rug! The only thing that has really worked well getting the stains and oders out has been Resolve rug cleaner. The type you pour into the rug cleaner machines. I buy a larg bottle for $8 I put some in a spray bottle for small accidents. Today I was fed up with all the little stains near our sliding glass doors. The whole rug came out fresh and looks totally brand new! I have to shampoo our rug 2-3 times a month. With Cookie its pure laziness! He's already 14 months old lol. He was going great on the pee pads and would only pee a little off the pee pad once in a while. Since Mimi arrived he thinks " oh well if she can pee in her bed then I can pee right here next to the sofa" If I am in the room he will automatically pee and poop on the pads. So if there is someone nearby he will use the pads, if no one is around he sneaks and pees anywhere! About 90% of my house is rug except the 2 bthrooms and kitchen. Genie www.littlemimi.org |

| Wait before you get it cleaned! Just use Nature's Miracle for now... I went and got mine clean when Stomper was about 4 months old. When I brought it home, guess what he did???!! He went #1 on it! No use of paying to get it cleaned until you know he is potty trained. Nature's Miracle is great!

| Oh my gosh I feel your pain. I have a black rug in the kitchen and I've washed it about 4 times in the past week. Every single time I put it down both Roxy and Gibson would pee on it! I finally just rolled it up and put it away! |

| I should own stock in the $2.50 rugs they sell at Wal-Mart! Simon is prone to peeing out of anger, he looks me straight in the eye when he's mad and pees on the rug! Thank goodness for cheap rugs that are machine washable! |

| Today I used Bissel rug cleaner instead of Resolve. I have to say that I am really impressed with the results! My rug looks brandnew! My husband even noticed when he went in there to watch TV. He was like " wow that stuff really worked" I always use Resolve but they were sold out in Walmart so I bought the the Bissel brand . It was awesome. The rug was super light like when we first moved in almost 2 yrs ago. I regret picking out a light ,light beige rug for the entire house! I can't wait for the day we rip off the rugs in our family, formal livingroom, formal dining, and hallways! I still cant understand why did our home builder put rug in our formal dining room!Well actually I do know lol $$$$$$ I'm still surprised that the dining room rug looks brand new! People ask me if I'm sure kids live here! Yes ! 3 kids and two dogs! We keep putting off installing tiles because of cost and time! Genie |
