| I am pretty sure that the recall is only for canned and pouch foods. Hope no one here on YT is affected by this. |

| My little Mia got very sick on Saturday morning and I panicked like a mom would! Of course I had no idea about the food recall at that time, but I stayed by her side all day because she was completely lifeless and vomiting. After a few hours she slowly came back around to her usual self. I feel sooo LUCKY that my little girl came thru this. I checked the recall list and she does eat the Nutro food, but not the kind in the cans and packages....however, the night before I thought I would give her a little treat and gave her some Nutro Carrot Cake out of the can. Why oh why did I decide to give it to her that night?! Luckily I didn't give her the entire can...just a spoonful or two. I certainly hope nobody else was effected by all of this. I was SCARED! | Is the recall for the little pouches of Nutro as well?? That's what Pepper eats, a little mixed with dry Royal Canin. Oh boy, now I'm worried...

| I'll have to check the website...I was sure it was only the dry food. . And I first was mixing a little Cesear with his dry (I know it's not the best) because is picky and won't touch just dry. Then I came across those pouches and thought "wow, they are healthier" - . I'll need to check those dates once I get back home. Pepper's fine, hasn't acted sick at all in the last months.

Go to the website and check the recalled pouch dates - the recall is only for pouches dated dec, jan and feb. All my remaining pouches were dated november - of course, it is possible that one of the pouches i fed them was a dec/jan/feb pouch, but I don't think so since I bought them all at the same time. They have been completely healthy, no problems, still it is just too stressful!!! I bought Merrick chunks in gravey as they would have "died" withouth their wet breakfast. Merrick is not on the list and probably won't be - hopefully!

| Veryconcerned By This New "60 millions cans and pouches of pet food were recalled this weekend after being linked to 10 animal deaths by kidney failure. Menu Foods announced the recall on "cuts and gravy" style pet food sold under numerous brands, including store brands for Wal-Mart, Kroger, and Safeway, as well as name-brands like Nestl? Purina PetCare and Science Diet. A complete list of affected products and serial numbers is on Menu Foods website. Symptoms of kidney failure include lethargy and jaundice. Immediate hospitalization is advised if your pet shows these symptoms and you've fed them a can of the recalled product. What makes this really sad is owners often feed cuts and gravy style canned food to their pets as a special treat. One reader wrote in saying she gave some to her dog for its birthday, only to discover later the cans were part of the recalled batch. Menu Foods floundered over the weekend in keeping pace with concerned consumer inquiries. The list of recalled product was initially only available as an excel sheet. A "contact us" section, now removed, led to a "404 not found" error. Menu Foods toll-free recall line, (866) 895-2708, continues to emit a constant busy signal" |
