| The recall is just for 'canned' food of those brands listed, correct?

| Yes but it still worries me. If there is a problem with the things they put in the canned Im afraid there will be a problem with the dry. for me its better safe than sorry!

| MSN.com has an article that includes the title below: 60 million containers of pet food recalled Eukanuba, Iams and store brands tied to kidney failure, deaths http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17650075/?GT1=9145 I didn't see Eukanuba and Iams on that list.

| Unfortunately you will see a lot more of the same thing with the deaths of animals that die and have a direct link to dog food. However, have you ever wondered why dogs are dieing of liver, kidney and heart problems and cancers at epidemic porportions? How about allergies. I've never seen so many allergy dogs. All these dogs have one common denominator...........dog food. Dead, diseased, lab, farm animals that have been pumped full of chemicals and hormones, and road kill all go into a boiling pot. The chemicles cannot be boiled out and this goop is made into more feed for farm and companion animals. It's always being re-cycled. We humans are dieing from cancers at epidemic porportions too, and it's no wonder. Look at the red meat we eat, and look at what that cow ate. I always ask people to buy free range meats. Sorry to go on like this, but we need to take charge and save our companion animals and ourselves. Doctors and Vets. have a purpose, but not when it comes to giving medication all the time and not wanting to get to the root of the problelm. We don't live in a perfect world, so we need to fight harder at using caution about what we put into ours and our companion animals mouths each day. |

No Longer a Member | There's a group at dogster called "Home cooked food and recipes" that has some information on how to make a nutritionally complete dog food. There is some great information there and some really helpful people. I picked up the Pitcairn book, and it wasn't for me. It's on both dog and cat food, and when it made the suggestion to feed cats a vegetarian diet, they lost my confidence, as cats are true carnivores...but I digress. |

| Dr. Pitcairns book has vegetarian and meat recipes. He shows how you can feed both ways and still have the same neutrition even for a carnivor. His book is loaded with a wealth of information and how to cure so very many things that are such a common occurance these days. Don't just read one thing and decide it isn't for you. Go back and read all the other wonderful things in it. |
