| If you have more than one yorkie please read... I am trying to get CHato a playmate. I want a female but some people have told me to get him a male cause they will play better. If you have experiece in having two can you please help me to pick the best sex for my baby boy? he is about to turn 4 months. Also I heard that is not good to have two puppies. is this true? Thanks Erika |

| As long as they are spayed/neutered, it won't make a bit of difference. |

| I have a boy and a girl 2 1/2 weeks apart in age. They are still puppies and get along very well Since my female has a bad heart murmur and anesthesia and surgery are out of the question, I will neuter the male.

| I agree with Jeanie, as long as they're spayed/neutered it doesn't matter. My neutered male yorkie's best friend is my mom's male maltese mix, and they get along so well Then, we got our little maltese, and she's a female, and they get along beautifully too. Just get whatever yorkie you fall in love with whether it's a male of female. Don't look at gender, just find your baby Good luck!

| I think it is more about temperament. I have three. Mom and her two pups that are now 7 months old. The female Pinky and her mom get into it more than mom and son Princeton. The puppies play very well together. They all have so much fun together. Here is a puppy test for temperament. It is an extensive test for working dogs but I think it may help you decide if you want a more submissive personality. http://www.workingdogs.com/testing_volhard.htm Good luck in your search.

| I got a male first, and then a year later got a female and they are the best of friends. Then I just got another female and they all play so good. I think my male and my second female play more often. I really dont think it really matters what sex they are.

| Two males or two females or male female...........doesn't matter in the least! I always thought it sad for a dog to be the only "kid". They seem so much happier with a "buddy". If you raise one dog alone for a few years then they get like old people.......set in their ways and sometimes wont accept a puppy, so I suggest getting a second dog when the first one is still young. |

| I think it works out best when you have two pupies together rather than an adult and a puppy. I have a male and a female and they are 1 month apart in age. They play real well together and they didnt have to go through an adjustment period

| I have a male and female. Max is a year older than Abbie. They have been neutered/spayed and they are the best of friends. They are SO attached to each other . Max can handle being alone because he was an only "child" for a year before I got Abbie but she would be LOST without him. When ever they are separated she paces around looking for him. So males and females bond and can get along very well.
