Getting neat and staying that way I think I'm probably just hoping there is a magical product out there but here goes anyway. Lexi always looks scraggly. 5 minutes after I brush her, she looks scraggly. Is there any product that can be used before, during or after a daily brushing to help keep her fur neat looking rather than stringy. She's adorable anyway but I was wondering.

Now that sounds vaguely familiar!! Baby Gizzie still has her puppy fur but Gypsy Rose looks so beautiful for the first few minutes after being brushed but not sure what happens after this!! Especially her head and face area! She has a nice shiny coat and doesn't like sprays etc, it's mainly her head that seems to get stragly! So I'll hang on here for any advice too if you don't mind!!

Higgins has always had a rather thin coat. And he has ALWAYS looks messy. We keep it somewhat short so we don't have to brush it a whole lot -- he hates being brushed and groomed. And since he is all boy and a little dickens, we think it's okay for him to look like that. Shoulda named him "Scruffy." :rolleyes

Schatzie too who is 6 months looks scraggly shortly after brushing. It drives me NUTS!! I bath her about every 3-4 days as this seems to help but I also will hang out to see if anybody has some advise. Im not sure if once the puppy hair is lost a better coat comes along or if what she has now is what she will have forever. Gosh, I hope not. For years I have been getting Yorkie books and see all these dogs with such gorgeous coats. Then I look down at Schatzie who looks like she has been rung through a ringer. Oh I love her to pieces but sure hope there is a magical formula for a nice smooth coat that doesnt look greasy or stringy... She goes from a cottony fluff ball, to a part down her back the 2nd day which looks real nice to the third day of yuch!!

Ahhh, so glad it's not only me and Lexi . I thought I was doing something wrong. Maybe it is still puppy fur. She is going to be 6 months old on the 22nd of this month. The fur at the top of her hair is so soft it reminds me of goose down. The body fur is long enough now that it parts down the middle of her back. I'm looking for a groomer that is experienced in cutting Yorkies. Still hoping for that miracle product though.
