| Tell me about it! I ran across a lot of those ads in the Ft. Worth Star Telegram when I was yorkie shopping. It's very disheartening to know that people fall for these scams. |

| I have ran across tons of those. They are obviously scams and tend to use Yahoo email addresses. Every time I've had one I send it to Yahoo and let them know that it is being utilized to scam people, along with the email they sent me. I also forward the replies to the newspaper, site, etc. that posted the ad to let them know it was fraudulent. It is a shame that these people are on there to take advantage of people! |

Well i got an e.mail back but they were from Belfast Camaroon! Anyway i replied back and told them i was mistaken, my god they bombarded me with emails wanting to no what airline i wanted to use, when i could send the money and more or less the things you received in your emails. Thank god im wise enough to no that this is definitly a scam. I just cant help thinking about the people that will actully be sucked into this. There definitly are some sick people out there. |

| ANYBODY SAYING THEY ARE FROM THE CAMEROONS DOING BIBLE STUDY AND MISSIONARIES IS LYING!!!! There is soooo much fraud....they will ask you to western union the money and once they have it...they are gone!!!! And no way to track them down. All my breeder friends say people have come to their home in tears after their puppy never arrived at the airport. The best thing to do is find a local breeder who has references and vet recommendations! Please do not be fooled. Everyone is out to make money and if they are willing to give away a dog for free (it's going to be to a friend or family member, not a stranger) OR they will put it up for adoption at their local animal center |

| I have seen alot of the ones that say they are in Africa. I would be afraid to buy ANY dog that I couldn't see in person before hand. I have also heard of people getting a different puppy shipped to them (usually alot older than what they were told) than the one they picked online. Be careful, surely you could find one close enough to where you live that you could drive there and see it first. |

| I say that if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. I was scammed a few years back on puppyfind. The woman was put on 2 years probation and ordered to pay me back my $1,060...but she has 4 years to do it. Unbelievable.

| It is distressing to keep reading about this type of fraud. So sorry you are having trouble. I wasn't aware of this forum when I began looking for my Yorkie (..."ies" as it turned out), but since I was aware of the going price here in Southern California, I really was not interested in buying one sight unseen. This site would probably where I'd start looking now. Many breeders here whose puppies, and practices, can be verified by other members. I started by going to dog shows and meeting a lot of breeders. I also got the list of breeders from the Yorkshire Terrier Club. I spoke to many breeders before I made a decision. I think you have to both find the perfect puppy for you and a breeder you are comfortable working with, and whose referrences check out. Just my way of going about it ---- you have to do whatever you are comfortable with. Good luck. |
