| Should I consider this puppy? Hi everyone, I have been talking to a woman that just had puppies 3 weeks ago. I really like the girl puppy. She told me today that she wants $950 for her. She lives 2 hours away and wants me to come down this week to put a deposit. The puppy will be CKC registered. She is not AKC. I guess both parents are AKC but the mom's tranfer paperwork wasn't signed so she can't transfer it to her name. So, the litter isn't AKC. Anyways, the puppy comes with full rights which is something I am seeking. I have seen pictures of both parents and I love them. However, I have a few issues. First of all, we are moving in 3-4 months (across the state) so I don't know if it is ideal now or wait until after the move. This puppy will be ready to go in 5 weeks. I really wanted an AKC dog, but I guess I can settle. I don't know if the price is good or not. I know yorkies are expensive, I am willing to pay up to $1500 for the perfect one (from a great breeder) but I don't know if $950 is right for a non-AKC dog. Hmmmm. What do you all think? Should I go look at it and pay the deposit or should I wait until I find another one that is AKC and that will be ready after I move? I need advice since I can't seem to look past how cute it is and how I want it NOW! I just don't want to make a mistake and I want to make sure I am doing the right thing. Any advice? |

| I think $950 is too high for a dog that is not AKC but I am in Indiana and My breeder sells her AKC females with breeding rights for $900

| I think it is too high not to be AKC registered. You said you guess you could settle. Don't settle. Get exactly what you have wanted and hoped for. |

| I think it depends what you mean by CKC. To me CKC means Canadian Kennel Club. Though, I think there's another American KC that uses the same abbreviation. I just bought my Yorkie baby for $950, but she's registered through the Canadian Kennel Club. It's probably too much to pay if she's not AKC registered. |

| I agree with everyone else. Don't settle. I settled on my Louie, and now I have 3...lol. So I would wait til after the move and then you'll have more time to give to the pup. Besides you'll have to potty train alot more with moving and confusing the puppy.

| Personally I think that is way too much for CKC. I sell my beautiful AKC puppies, for not much more than that and some of them are chocolates that are getting real popular these days!!!!!

| I don't think it really matters if your not planning on breeding.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I think you said you were looking for breeding rights? If so, if you want to sell AKC pups your going to want your male and female to both be AKC registered. I know its hard to wait !!! But don't settle. Its very imporrtant to get what you really want. Good luck in your search !!! |

| I too think it's a bit pricey. I would wait until you get exactly what you had in mind originally!

| I do not think $950 is pricey as people sell their pups for the same prices with, AKC & CKC and other registries all the time but...if you want to breed it's best you get an AKC girl. My first girl was CKC (I did not know better) but all my new ones are AKC, it would also be good if you could find one with some good bloodlines if you are planning to breed. I would keep looking...

| Thanks everyone! I needed to hear that. I will wait. I know I shouldn't settle and I should wait for a AKC yorkie. I do want to breed in the future, so I should stick to AKC. Thanks for everyone's feedback, I love this site! Oh, to the person that asked if it is Canadian Kennel Club - No, it is the american one, I think it is continential kennel club. |
