| maggie has something wrong with her leg she takes spells lately she wont walk on it for a few minutes. My sister in law said something about luxating patella (SP). I guess I need to make her a vet appt and see for sure. I ck her leg everytime she does it and between her paw pads and there is nothing there to hurt her foot. So anyone have any different ideas on what this could be? she is just 9 months old.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | next time you catch her not putting weight on it put your hand on the joint and see if it feels rather loose or out of place. She can also have just maybe stepped on something or jumped down wrong on it and gave it a small sprain. Maybe you should crate her for a bit and limit her activity to see if it helps. When I had gotten Lex he had jumped out of my daughters arm and sprained his leg. The doctor had me keep him in his xpen and rest the leg. He would not walk on it at all. After a few days of this he was good as normal. I was so scared thinking he might have fractured his leg. It didn't help that he was crying like he had broken it. Good luck.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | In the meantime try not to let her jump up and down from furniture. That way if it's a sprain of some sort it can heal and not keep repeating itself. She might be playing rough and doing some minimal damage but it will build up if you dont' watch it and can cause something worse in the end. Good luck with your cutie.
