| The Size of my Yorkie I just got my first yorkie about a month and a half ago- He is the pride and joy of mine and my fiance's life!! We have never had one before and we were just curious about his size. He is now a little over 5 months old and weighs 3lbs. His dad was a little over 5 lbs and his mom was 4 lbs. Are there any suggestions as to how big he will get or when is a good age to judge just how big they will be? Thank you for the help... |

| Not sure but Remmy was grown by a year but put on weight after that cause he kinda filled out. He was skinny but as he got a little older he filled out. He is 2 and is 6lbs. Chris |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk I too have a 3lb 5 month old baby boy, Tucker! There is a web site they has a Yorkie Growth Chart. I don't know it but maybe someone will post it for you. Or do a search on this site for it and I am sure it will come up. Enjoy your new baby! Tucker's Mom |

| Congrats on your new baby! Also, some dogs are different one of my yorkies weighs 10 pounds and her sister is 4 pounds. SO it all depends on the dog and parents.

| I have no idea how to use that thing. Do you add the top oz to the bottom? I did Stewie's weight at 16 weeks and I cannot come up with an answer... I've looked that that chart about 200 times and still don't get it. By the way, the same person made those two sites. Her name is Kimberly and she's a member here (feminvstr)

| Both my yorkies have parents of simular size to yours, they both weighed 3lbs until about 7 or 8 months then they hit a growth spurt. Missy is now 10mo and at the last vet appt. she weighed 4lbs 10oz and Max is 8mo old and weighed 4lbs 8oz. They are both really close to 5lbs now. I am in touch with someone who has Max's brother and she said his brother weighs 7lbs at 8mo and my sister bought Missy's sister and she only weighs 3lbs 8oz. Soooo... you never know. My guess would be your pup should be a little under 5lbs but you'll have to wait and see. |

| It's always a surprise, just like their hair. My Pirogue was 2.10 at 8 weeks and now at a year is 9.8#. He was the typical black and tan and now is blond and silver. Sylvia |

| lol Stewies Mom its not that complicated to use the chart http://yorkiepassion.com/growthchart.htm example if your pup is 3 1/2 lbs @ 5 months each lb equals 16 ounces you need to convert to ounces 16 16 16 8 ----- 56 ounces now look to the left of the chart for how many weeks your baby is 5 months = 20 weeks follow accross to find 56 oz or close to it pup should be about 5lbs BUT remember this is just a gage some grow fast others slow. hope this helps

| Thanks Kimberly and Tucker's Mom. I stared at it for like 25 mins LOL. It says Stewie would be 5lbs at 18mos based on his 17 week weight.
