| Average Weight? Hey I was reading up about the average weight for yorkies, and how you can tell what your yorkies weight will be....whatever Busters weight will be is going to be fine with me but just out of curiosity how true is it to double the weight at 12 weeks to find out the adult weight and what are some of your yorkies weights ???? |

| Yep you take the 12 week weight and double it and it gives you an estimate of adult weight. I have two yorkies. They are 6 and 10 lbs

| I got Toby at 4 months, just under 2 pounds. He is now 3 1/2 years old and weighs a little over 6 pounds. I guess it doesn't always work, doubling the weight at 12 weeks. Maybe growth spurts happen at different times in each individual case??

| My Yorkie is 2 lbs 4 oz at a little over 20 weeks. Unless she slows down a lot I don't think the doubling the weight at 12 weeks will ring true for her. She was 1.3 lbs (1lb 5-6 oz.) at 12 weeks |

| bornnygurl, I agree that your girl will stay small. I really think that my Toby is the exception to the rule. When he came to me he appeared to have a tiny body with a huge head, out of proportion to his body. He really didn't look like a pure bred Yorkie to me. Now his body is in perfect proportion to his head. His breeder never sent me his AKC papers as promised so I guess there is a chance that he is mixed??

| Loki was 3.5 pounds at 13 weeks. He's like 11-12 pounds at 2yrs old. But sometimes I think he is a mutant. He is 13 inches long and Sammy is 11 inches long, but he is twice as tall as her and weighs twice as much. He's definately not too big though.
