Injections My 7 week old is having his first jabs next Tuesday. Is there any chance he will have side effects from this and if so what would I be looking for? Thankyou.

| Yes, they can get sick from them. Piper vomited, but that was it. Some can get very sick from them, but mine haven't.

Hannah did not do very well after her shots. My vet told me that yorkies feel really bad after their shots. The day I brought Hannah home from the breeders she had recieved a shot that morning and the breeder gave her some benadryl and she did fine. The second shots she recieved I gave her some benadryl but less than half the recommended amount (I forgot the dose and I didn't want to give too much) and later that night she got up crying and running through the house and acting very weird, I was soooo scared that she was going to die. I got on the internet and looked up the benadryl dosage and in about 30 min she went back to sleep, it seemed to take her a couple days to get back to normal, but she was sore for a few days. The next set of shots I gave her the recommended amt of benadryl right after her shots and she did fine, you would have never known she even had recieved her shots. So my advice is to give benadryl-check with your vet on the dosage.

Just to let you know that Louie had his first shots today, he really yelped. He slept all afternoon but was very alert when he woke up just doesnt like the back of the shoulder being touched, I imagine it is very sore. But you wouldn't know he had anything done today (as long as you don't touch his shoulder ) dreading 2 weeks time now

Gordon got his rabies shot Friday...so no more shots for 12 months. My vet told me to watch for face swelling and a rash on his stomach. All of his other shots made him sleep all day and it took him a couple of days to get back to playing, and being himself. Friday evening and all day yesterday, he did nothing but go get in his kennel. He only came out for me to take him outside. He didn't eat much yesterday, but this morning he ate his usual amount. Took him to his puppy classes and he did great...he just seems a little upset with me. (I took him Friday for his shots) Gordon is 16 weeks.
