| I never even thought of such a thing. Who would put down a healthy dog? Good grief are there vets out there who do this? I know pounds will do this if the dog is not adopted within a certain time period as sad as this is but a vet? I would like to hear the answers. Carol & Buddy |

| Yea, you shouldn't be able to, but you can. If a vet doesn't the shelter would. It sucks.

| What if that lady has a mental problem and wake up that morning and decided to put her dog to sleep and they do it that is just crazy. I was watching Cesar Milan the other day (The dog Whispers) and there was a young ,beautifull healthy boxer that the owner took to the pound to put her to sleep because she jomp the fence couple of times, grrrrr that make me so mad. Fortunately this lady came and adopt her for company of her older male boxer thank God; but can you imagine the other dogs, poor babies |

| I would hope vets would refuse to put down a dog that was not terminal. But so sad that the shelters will do it upon request. I think they should at least have to wait and see if someone would adopt them! I read the post you were talking about. I hope the lady was just being mean saying that because she was made about getting mail -- but she did post that she thought about it initially, so who knows. I cannot imagine how anyone who lived with one of these sweet dogs would have them murdered.

| I know my Vet wont put a dog down unless it has an untreatable condition. I think it is awful to put a dog down otherrwise

| Yes, when I had to have my dog put to sleep they never even asked me why. So, as long as you pay for the procedure they will do it.
