| Sleeping through the storm Yesterday was a tension filled day. We were lucky here, much more so than our neighbor, AL, to the north. My 4 dogs all seem to want to sleep through storms. Since it was one after another yesterday, they got lots and lots of napping in. So, 2 am ..... these guys came to life. It was a Greyhound Racetrack and WWF match rolled into one. I could not believe it. I tried to go back to sleep but their path included a leg through our bedroom. Finally, I got up and joined them for a while, then eventually fell asleep on the couch. I will be dragging today!! Crazy little things!! Gotta love 'em though!!

| I'm so glad you guys are OK! It's just so horrible that so many lives were lost in Enterprise. Toronados are terrifying!! Stay safe!

| Thanks Bettyanne and Katy's mom -- I am also saying a prayer for those lost in the storm and their poor devastated families. It seems all the more tragic when a tornado hits a school -- a place we think of as safe.

| We were in Tornado warnings until 5am this morning. I was really scared, never been in a Tornado before. My husband works in Americus, which is where we lived until May of last year. I called and told him to come home. About 9o'clock last night Americus got hit HARD and right downtown. The hospital (where I had my son in July) was severely damaged and they had to shut it down and transport patients to the hospital here where I live now. It flattened lots of Dr's offices and the Winn Dixie shopping center was flattened. There are 2 confirmed fatalities up there so far. Their fire and ems stations were also hit. Lots of devistation. Right after that, we were watching the news and DH said well it is just rain now, lets go to bed, nothing going to happen. This was at 11:25 or so. At 11:45 another tornado formed and went through the county just south of us and destroyed some mobile homes and killed 6 people who were all members of two families. One was a 12 year old little girl. I thank GOD that it did not hit us. Seems like we were just like a little area in the middle that got nothing but alot of heavy rain and wind.

| OMG all this tornado talk scares the crap outta me. I am so glad we don't get tornados up here! (ok - we get a few but NOTHING like you guys in the mid-west!) That storm blew up through Toronto last night and I thought my windows were going to blow in. That wind was STRONG! It came down as an ice storm here and now we've got trees and power lines down all over the place. It's a real mess. Glad to hear everybody made it through the storm ok! |
