| One Ear Up, One ear down??? I have seach threads and this is teething I guess. Tucker is almost five months. He has always have up ears. Two days ago one fell. It is amazing how different he looks. His ears were already shaved. I don't care if they are up or down, I just hope that both ears do the same thing. Does anyone know if Yorkies can grow to be adults and have one ear up and one down? My vet said the laid down ear would most likely go back up. How long does it take to go back up if it is teething? I was just curious about this new look, and I want you to know, that I would still love him if he had no ears |

| I don't know I swear they communicate with their ears sometimes!! Jewels ears are up now but last week was one up/one down. Everytime we go to the vets they flop again. She has a vet appointment next week so they will be back down. I am sure Tuckers ear will go back up after hes done teething. I think they are cute with one up/one down.

| Starsky's ears are always up until I took him to the groomers and then one ear when floppy, now that he is a little dirty again, it's back up. I think that when the fur is soft they tend to flop, I don't know if it has something to do with the soap or what. Just a thought....

| My baby is a little younger (3 months) and his ears do that when he gets really upset about something. They go back up pretty quick. I have also heard that it can be a result of changing hormones and/or the end of teething and that they should go back up at the end of it. I have also heard that they go down when they are smaller and are sick. Not to concern you at all, it's just what my vet said to look for. I'm sure they will go back up soon though. My baby's took about 2 weeks to go fully up again.

| Has he by any chance had a rabies shot recently?I think that sometimes makes them go down also.

| Tucker's Mom - My first Yorkie's ears are floppy, always have been. The breeder told me they should stand up but they didn't. Lady's ears were up before I got her but were a little floppy because she was teething. Her ears were up and down, up and down, and finally stayed down. I think it was because Pirogue's and my other dog's ears were floppy. I think if Pirogue's ears were up she would have kept her's up too. I say this because Autumn's ears were up when I got her and she purposely holds them down. When you watch you can see that she is doing it on purpose. Now with Mr. Big and Lacijo, Lacijo doesn't seem affected by anyone else's ears, hers are up and that's where they are staying. Mr. Big on the other hand can't decide whether or not his should be up or down but for the most part they are up but when they are down you can see that he also is holding them down, or should I say back. He and Autumn hold their ears back. With the example of these two Autumn is letting her ears stand up more than she was. |

| After my Molly's ears stood up, one ear went back down for a couple of weeks but it did go back up. After I thought about it, it was right after her second set of shots. She just had her third round and so far so good. She goes this afternoon for her rabies and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have any problems of any kind. I've also heard they can go up and down when they are teething. I would massage them a lot.
