Please read, coughing gone bad? Okay so appx 2 weeks ago I took 3 month old Buster to the vet because he was sneezing a lot, turns out he had a upper respiratory infection so the doctor put him on clavamox. Hes been on it since, and overall it seems like his health is improving. His sneezing has slowed down, and his nose is no longer clogged up. Hes eating better, and is more active. And the past few days, Buster went back to eating the dry food on his own. (We were feeding him the A/D prescription food through a seringe) However, the past 3-4 days hes been coughing. And doing some kind of pre-cough thing, where it sounds as if he is trying to gather and spit up flem of some sort. Hes been doing that a lot and just now, as I am typing this thread, he just coughed up some flem looking clear stuff. Its not throw up for sure, just looks and seems to be he is coughing up flem. I am just wondering, if this is normal behavior. Hes been improving in many ways, but this cough is giving me second thoughts. Any imput would be appreciated. Hope nobody is freaked out by this picture, but its an actual pic I just took of what he is coughing up

Video Here is a video I just took, so you guys/gals can see exactly what I am talking about. He does this before actually coughing, and hes spit up some flem 3 times already. I am thinking its sort of a good thing because hes coughing out the infection. But you all may know better then me, please let me know! Oh and one last question, would it be okay to give him some Childrens Pedia Care to supress the cough? Keep it mind, he is on Clavamox right now. Video: PLEASE CLICK HERE!!

I don't know anything about the medicine your talking about but most coughs should not be supressed unless it's night time and is interfering with sleep. I am a nurse and that doesn't look like sputum. It looks more like spit. I'd call the vet on Monday. Plenty of fluids, too.
