| How big will she get??? My Dixie is a week shy of 4 months old and she weights 6 lbs. Now how much more will she grow. I was told she will be around 9 lbs. Around what age will she stop growing. I think she is the big Yorkie. She is the size I would like to be now. She scratches herself like she has fleas and I know she don't. I find pieces of her fur around the kitchen, I know she scratches herself more than she should. She has been on Benadryl for a few weeks and is not any better. Does anybody have any idea what it could be. I take her back to the vet in 3 weeks. I gave her a small raw baby carrot today and she loves it, is it O.K. to continue giving her 1 a day? Or is it better to cook it. Outside of that she only gets puppy chow and very little treats. http://www.dogster.com/dogs/453768 |

| about the size thing, but scratching could be that she has food allergies (corn, soy etc) carrots are fine either way, apples too. at the vet appt. |

| what shampoo are you using? and are you rinsing really well? rinse until you think you have rinsed really well and then rinse some more. could also be the food too. I give mine raw baby carrots for treats. I don't give them a whole one tho. I cut it into 4 pieces (one for each of them). If I give them a whole one, they will get too much because I give them often. Every time I look at them I say "Oh how cute, how about a treat". I also will give a green bean (straight out of the can) ,when we have them for dinner. they love love love those! welcome to YT by the way! how about a pic? I would love to see that growing baby. I have one that I can't hold so easily in my arms but she is a lover & a keeper.

| The itching could be food allergies...Maybe you could look into a holistic food or a natural food of some sort. Examples: Merrick, Natural Balance, Solid Gold, etc. Good luck, and I hope your baby's itching goes away soon, it's no fun!

So only time will tell. Perhaps it's her food. What is she eating? Anything with wheat or corn in it can cause itching. There are many threads regarding diet and the better foods to feed our Yorkies. Check into it and hopefully that will be the cause. Canidae is rated very high as well as Natural Balance. No wheat or corn. Only good things. Carol & Buddy |

| Thanks ladies,.............I just bought "Premium" oatmeal Shampoo and used it once, but she is still scratching. I just started working in "Chicken soup" in her diet slowly taking away Puppy chow. I read some place on the Internet to use "Clemastine" Non-prescription allergy med. I am going out looking for it over the counter. I also read using "Episoothe cream rinse and the shampoo is for allergy. It's hard for me to get out much, so it will take time. I know she is not fat, but she is not the tinny Yorkie like most of you have, she seems like the larger size and was wondering how heavy they get. She was given to me as a Christms gift and I now have my hands full. I really wasn't looking for a dog jut yet, but I now seem to have one. I love her now that I have her for 2 months already and want to do the best I can for her. Ginny & Dixie http://www.dogster.com/dogs/453768 Have a few movies of her here. |

It's hard to know how your dog will end up, but I have a bigger Yorkie as well. Mia's almost 10 lbs at 10 months, and I wouldn't trade her with a smaller dog if they offered me a fortune. As she was growing up, there were times when I said, okay it would be perfect if she'd be done growing now. But, she kept getting sweeter and cuter, and distracted me from her size They are sneaky like that! Good luck with your pup's skin problem. I hope she will get better soon.

Here is Puppy Chow's Ingredients: Ingredients: Whole grain corn, chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, brewers rice, soybean meal, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), pearled barley, calcium phosphate, fish oil, calcium carbonate, animal digest, salt, potassium chloride, L-Lysine monohydrochloride, choline chloride, zinc sulfate, Vitamin E supplement, DL-Methionine, zinc proteinate, ferrous sulfate, brewers dried yeast, manganese sulfate, manganese proteinate, added color (Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 2), niacin, Vitamin A supplement, copper sulfate, calcium pantothenate, copper proteinate, garlic oil, pyridoxine hydrochloride, Vitamin B-12 supplement, thiamine mononitrate, Vitamin D-3 supplement, riboflavin supplement, calcium iodate, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), folic acid, biotin, sodium selenite. I pick foods with NO by-products, definately no animal digest and no corn, wheat or soy. Raw carrots are good as long as she does not choke. You can grate them if she ever has any difficulty with them. I doubt she is done growing at 4 months so she will probably be a big Yorkie. But if you just want her for a pet, nothing wrong with that. Their Yorkie personalities seem to shine through no matter what size.

| The only thing I can really add is they stop growing at about 8 Months, though some continue up to 12. I have had 4 and all stopped at 8 months, though might have added height or length which was hardly noticable. |
