| What do you do with your puppies while your at work? My goal is to get a puppy during the summer but in case I see one that I just have to have now, I am curious what I will do during the day. What do you do with your puppy while your at work? I have always caged trained my dogs but it's been so long ago since I trained one that I don't remember how well things went. Especially if it is a smaller yorkie. What is the longest you have had to leave yours in their cage and how did they do? I know that every dog is different but I would love to see what some of you do with your babies. Thank you! |

| I put Hannah in the hallway with all the doors closed and a doggy gate at the end. I put her potty pad, food and water, toys and bed in there. There is nothing there that she can get into. I just hope she don't poop while I am gone because then she carries it into her bed and burries it under her blankets... |

| yeah, i am very blessed. i hope it never changes. i started my own company and there are no code restrictions against me having a dog in the office so she goes with me every day. everywhere i go...she is my sidekick

| I only leave my two when I go bowling or grocery shopping. Sahara is only 9 months and stays in the bathroom with food and water, and Dennis has the run of the house now that he is almost 2. I have never caged them and they both sleep with me at night. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | When Eddie was a pup, he had round-the-clock care because the MIL was home when we weren't. Now, MIL's gone, but they're old enough to get the run of the house. I set 5 hours as a limit for alone time. Fortunately, I work a mile from home and can take them for a walk at lunchtime. I didn't crate train, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. Hopefully, YTers will let you know how long is OK to leave them in the crate. You might consider doggy daycare, especially while he or she is a puppy.

| The moment N'Stein came to my house I've trained him to stay all alone. Of course at the beginning I left him in his little private room (his cage). When he was able to do his #1 and #2 on his training pad he had all the apartment for him. Now he is able to stay alone without any problem and he just sleep. And when I'm back we of course have to play a little.

| i also leave mine with the bathroom open and the hallway in front of the bathroom then put up a baby gate for him at the begining i did not put up the gate and let him run loose then that's when the radio wire and internet wire got chewed up so after that i started putting up the baby gate. He's good thoug i unfortunatley have to leave my baby alone for quite a while i leave the house at 8 and get back at 6 i know some may say that's a long time to leave my baby alone but unfortunatley i have to go to work to make money to buy him toys and clothes and and all that but he's good. He's happy when i get home and i know that he's ok i leave him toys, treats water food the works
