| Is Your Yorkie Big Or Small to YOU??? Hi everyone! A couple of weeks ago we went to a Pet Expo in NJ and we brought our kids (Lowie and Chowie both about 7lbs each). Now after seeing them in our house day after day after day (never gets old ) they seem like standard/big Yorkies. However, when we put them in the doggie play area at the Expo, they seemed SO TINY !!!! There weren't any big dogs in the play area or anything like that to make me think they are tiny. So it wasn't a comparison thing (they were actually by themselves) when we both realized, seeing them from a distance in an enviroment out of the norm, they REALLY are small. (Yes this may sound crazy, but it's like...what can I compare it too...like REALLY seeing yourself for the first time and going, yes I actully do need to lose/gain a few pounds. I had no idea I looked like that... kind of thing...lol) Has this happened to anyone else? You thought your Yorkie was big but then seeing them somewhere else from a distance you realized, "OMG, my baby(ies) are so small/big?!?!?!?" Just curious if we are the only parents going thru that... NYMP

| My husband and I were saying the same thing earlier. Seeing Queequeg day-to-day we don't think she's that small. However, when we have her outside or compare her to other dogs the reality of how incredibly tiny she really is sinks in. I think we just got accustomed to her size and took advantage of just how small she really is. |

| We had a Lhasa Poo when we got Gracie and he was a surprising 20 lbs. Gracie is around 9 lbs.- on the large size for a yorkie but she always seemed so little when Basil was still alive for the comparison. Now we have a 3 lb and a 4 lb yorkie and she looks so big. That's okay though because she's still the only princess in the house and the only one with a nice smooth belly to rub.

| Our male ( 1yr) Bentley is 4 pounds and our female (6 1/2 months) is about 6 lbs now... When we're just here at our apt with them they seem bigger to me. Especially Zoey! But when we go home or are on walks and see other dogs, we always are like, "WOW, they are sooo small!!" It's actually kinda funny. |

| I do forget how small they are until we are in public and even our male at 7lbs is small. He was smaller than a lab puppy at petsmart and that put it into perspective when the lady asked me how old my puppy was! He is full grown I told her and she just was amazed. Then my husband came around the corner with Lilly and she just tips the scales at 5lbs. The lady's jaw dropped. I guess that is what you get when you have a house fulll of labs I really can't imagine having anything under 5lbs she really is tiny to me!

| Cooper & Carley are on the big side for yorkies 10 and 11 lbs. But, they seem small to us because we have to watch where we live for owls, hawks and eagles. A 10 lb dog in reality is just not that big I would probably be a basket case if they were the tiny size.

Yes, I have totally lost my ability to judge their size. That hit home a couple months ago when I was walking them through a street fair in Palm Springs. I was surprised that everyone was stopping and commenting on them. They weren't stopping at all the other dogs walking around on leash. Then I handed both dogs off to my sister-in-law and stood back and watched. They are TINY! For the first time, they looked like foo-foo dogs to me, and I could see why everyone would stop in their tracks and gawk. Of course, then I grabbed the leashes again, looked into their loyal eyes and said "heel," and they grew 3 feet taller again before my eyes.
