| First Petco trip on a leash So after his first wave of shots i got the ok to walk him at the park/petco etc.. So we go into petco and this little guy is going nuts, he hasnt seen any dogs since Ive adopted him, and for his size he was a bigger man than any of these other dogs. A big german sheppard ( i was a little nervous) came up to him and he walked even closer no fear at all in Valentino. Luckily nothng happened. He was very interested in smelling poop of the other dogs tho, dont know what that was about. Ended up getting him some more outfits and such. Overall I was so pleased with Valentino's behavior. Oh and is any of your petco's having that fashion show March 3rd? and will you be attending? |

| Just my $0.02 ... Call me paraniod if you like... I do not and would not recommend letting doggies on the floor in Petco or anywhere dogs go (ie. park, vet, groomer) until they are at least 4-5 months old and all their shots have been completed because they are still very suseptible to catching things from other dogs. Not everyone takes as good care of their dogs as we do. There could be a sick one out there and you do not want to risk that for your little one...JMHO~ But I'm sure your cutie could probably win that contest...I would wait for the next one to come around...

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Whew! I thought I was paranoid. I never let mine on the floor at Petsmart or the vets. The vets waiting room is full of sick dogs and so many people go right to Petsmart after picking up theie puppies and who knows what they have. I just would rather be safe than sorry even though I know most people go with there with no problems.

| I am there with the both of you. Maybe Valentino's parents don't know about all the scary things our babies can get. I also don't let my older ones down and am very hesitant about my local dog park, which is very clean compared to some I have seen. Shhhhh, but...When the vet's office lets me into the room. I go into their cabinet and clean everything again, without them knowing, hehe! and even bring my own blankie for my doggies to sit on. The vet's office is not only for vaccinations but where people take their sick doggies, some of them contagious and it's better not to take the chance!!

| My vet didn't allow me to take Brandi anywhere near dogs (other than my daughter's dog because we knew he had all his shots) The only time I ever put her down in Petco was when she did puppy training....and I wasn't really thrilled.... |

| definately some good advice. i work at PetSmart... and people bring their dogs in all the time on the first day they get them before they have their shots. make sure ur dogs have all their shots before taking them into any of those places. we do our best to keep everything clean and sanitized but theirs still the chance we dont catch something. i keep my dog in her playpen locked in the managers office on busy days where im not sure whose been in the store. |

| I agree with the others and I wanted to add...you should be very, very careful letting large dogs approach him. Dogs can go from what looks like friendly to attacking in the blink of an eye. Personally, I don't ever let Gus around strange dogs unless they are close to his size. Valentino is such a handsome boy, I bet he looks adorable in his new clothes.

I also agree about the large dog thing. You never know, just be careful... I know I'm definately an overprotective mommy!
