Senior Yorkie Talker | Question for YT members with two or more Yorkies :) As some of you know , i'm getting a new furbaby. Jasper will be coming home in another 5 weeks so i'm trying to get everything prepared. I know 5 weeks is a good while from now but bringing home a new puppy is like bringing home a new baby so I want to make sure everything is perfect. I just have one question. Am I supposed to crate Zoey and Jasper together? When i'm not home , I don't want a mess made of my house so i'd really like to crate both of them but I don't know if i'm supposed to use seperate crates. If I can crate them together , i'd have to get a huge crate that will hold both of their food bowls and enough from that they can walk around. Any advice? I'm super excited!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I brought Pixie home 3 weeks ago and Cali and Maya have free run of the house but even though Pixie is 13 months old she was not housebroken so I had to put her in the playoen when I was gone. I didn't want to put her and Cali together as Cali likes to sleep on my dtrs bed when I am gone and aslo Pixie is much more aggressive in her playing and I didn't want to have them fighting in the pen. Pixie screamed for the first few days but seems to have settled down now. So I would see how they interact for a few days and if they seem to get along, no one is getting picked on then you could try putting them together. Good Luck.

| When we brought home our second baby we put the girls in a divided play yard. We started off by leaving for a short time and then a little longer each time. Once we knew they were getting along, we removed the divider. |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | you may want to invest in a EXPen, it much bigger then a crate. I will be getting a new 4 yr old Yorkie today, and when I'm at work Lillie is in the XPen, my friend did tell me that Baby usually has run of the house, so I will just have to play it by ear. |

| Use separate crates unless both are totally house/crate trained. You don't want one messing the crate for the other. Then I think once they are older it is fine to get one big crate if they prefer to be together.

| My two are crated together and seem to find comfort in that. I agree with Patti though, see how they interact first. You must be soo excited!!

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks for the advice guys! I'm praying with all of my heart that Jasper and Zoey get along but i'm sure they will. Zoey has never been agressive. She's always been so playful and loves to be around other people and animals. She's a sweetheart. I guess the fact if they are going to get along really determines what i'll do. Zoey pretty much has run of the house now. When I leave , I usually leave her out with the TV on. She loves watching TV. I already have a crate from when Zoey was a puppy and it's pretty big so i'll have that on standby. I think the Pen is a good idea too. I have a big space that it would be perfect in. Zoey isn't completely housetrained so it'll be a good idea if I start using something that will STOP her from soiling my carpet when i'm away. With Jasper here , I won't feel so bad about putting her up. She'll have some company. Thanks for the advice! I'm about to search online for a Playpen!
