| Do you have to shave? Do you have to shave off the puppy coat for the adult coat to come in properly? Lucy is 5 months old. Is it too early?

| Hannah Is 5 Months Old And I Groomed Her This Week. I Had To Get That Fuzzy Puppy Coat Off. Her Hair Is So Silky Now And When She Goes Outside To Play She Doesn't Get Leaves And Dirt And Grass And Anything Else Stuck In It. I Just Miss Her Cute Long Hair But It Will Grow Back Out. |

| Hi, I honestly have no idea but I will tell you what happened to my Trixie. Trix has very dark black hair on the body and it was wavy and fussy. It was about medium length around 1 yr. old and one day Trixie found some gum and got it all through her hair. Face and all I tried getting it out and then gave up. So I shaved her Well, that was a few months ago and finally she has some hair. Not at all long but not bold like before, LOL! Her hair is much straighter and so silky. The fuzz and waves are pretty much gone. Granted it may seem wavy some because its still so layered due to it being short but I think once it gets longer again (which is taking forever) its going to be so pretty. So maybe a haircut is needed but I'm honestly not sure. Just don't shave her bold like I had too, hehehehe! Good Luck

| I was wondering that myself about Holly, she turned 3 months on the 3rd of this month, and is a furball. And if I can remember right I took Prince for his first grooming between 3-5 months. I will have to check into that.

| I guess it never hurts to try. She's probably due for a cut anyway. Thanks for your thoughts.

| I've never had Vixxen cut and her hair is long a silky Truffles hair is different, I can tell already, it's just thicker and more coarse. However, it seems each time I bathe her, her coat is more straight and soft each time! She's so purdy...I wouldnt cut her, but thats just me...?

| All you need to do is brush those babies a couple times or more a day to get all the puppy fuzz out while the new hair comes in. I never heard of shaving it off, and it isn't necessary. |
