| Betty Doesn't Chew Her Food Betty eats Royal Canin 33...the pieces are pretty small. She just gobbles them...no chewing! Does anyone else's Yorkie do this with the Royal Canin? I'm worried that it's not good for her to just gulp it without chewing. |

| Every day Riley gobbles down her food in less than 2 minutes. This morning was the 1st time she's even thrown up (it came back up in whole pieces). She eats Nutro Max. So this afternoon I put down half her food & after 10 minutes I put down the other half. This worries me too. |

| Our 3 year-old Penny does this as well. I've been trying to come up with a solution. We put a tennis ball in her bowl on top of her food and that helped for awhile. Of course, now she's just as skilled manuevering around the ball and gulps it down just as quickly as before. I would love to hear if others have suggestions. When I posted on this before I didn't get much help. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i was gonna suggest putting something in the bowl too. this is what i do for my piggy cat. find something heavier and slightly bigger to almost fit the bowl witch just a few centimeters around it to get their nose in there. Or you can try feeding on a baking sheet. spread the food out so they have to go after each piece and not gulp the food. Or you can get one of those treat dispensing toys and fill it with the food.

| The thing is, even when Betty is NOT eating quickly, she doesn't chew the Royal Canin. She just swallows the little triangles. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | hmmm, maybe you will need to switch to another food with a bigger kibble so that she'll actually chew the food.

No Longer a Member | We have the same food, and Chloe swallows most of them whole also. She threw up in the car once, and what came out were little puffed up triangles. I don't worry about it. I think most dogs swallow their food whole. |
