| Dog Show Question Why do so many of the handlers hold treats for the dogs to bite on...and then put the treat in their own mouth??!! I don't get it. I even looked to see if maybe they did not have pockets...but most of them do. Anybody know why? |

| I did a little bit of showing with my cocker a few years ago and was told to put the treat in your mouth so they pay better attention to you. After all the dog's eyes follow the treat, it is one way of getting them to look at you and focus on you as they know the treat is in your mouth.

| I was also told that it is a hard treat and they put it in their mouths to wet it so they can break off little pieces. Sylvia |

| I saw a show about a lady whose dog was in shows. She made the treats herself out of people food and stuck them in her cheeks like a squirrel at the shows.
