| They are Pulling Out Each Others Hair Bands! What to do??? Oh my... I've never had two puppies and once and my Double Trouble Twins keeps pulling each other's band out of the others head! Jolie is really good about grooming and will lay patiently and enjoys getting brushed. Jen on the other hand will not lay on her back for me, struggles to run when I brush her, so getting the band in her hair to hold back the top is a challenge. Then, poof! A few hours later I have two Cousin Itt's! They even try to pull out Jazzie's bands and when I come home from work my beautiful Jazzie looks like she was in a cat fight! The twins are 5-1/2 month now. Any advise?

| My Zada and Azrael would pull each other around the house by their top-nots and, as you say, end up looking like cousin "It's". I could not keep their hair in a not for more than a few seconds. I finally just cut their hair. Now I'm trying to let it grow out again since they are both 2 years old and more settled. We'll see! |

| pulling out each other's hairbands I tried to keep my dog's hair tied up in a top knot, but they absoloutely hated it. They were constantly rubbing their head's on the floor, furniture, etc. I was driving them crazy, always fussing over them to fix it. So, I did what I swore I wouldn't do - got them a short haircut. They seem happier, but I do miss the cute look of a top knot.

| My Gizmo won't let me keep anything in her hair either. I have even tried the little rubber bands, barretts with rubber grips and bands for braces. No Luck. So now she just has bangs in the front and I part the back part of her head in the middle.

| my male does this to my female every time i put hers up i don't know what his deal is maybe try spray some bitter apple on top their heads or on the bow? eitehr way it's bothersome that you go through the trouble of trying to make them cute and get hair outta their faces just for them to eat it out basically .

| Kizzy and Maggie use to do that all the time. But I kept taking them and putting them back in and fussing at them, telling them to leave the bows alone and maybe they just figured out, each time they took them out, they had to go right back thru getting them back in and they finally just seemed to quit on their own. maybe they got tired of having to get them back in.

| hair bands I tried all kinds of rubber bands, I had to put them in tight and then it looked like it was pullin on their little scalp. I tried dental bands for braces, they worked ok, but the dogs hated them. I just don't think my dogs like anything tight pulling on their head. I can't blame them, I wouldn't like it either. Maybe I'll give it another try. The dog's on this site look sooo cute in their top knots.

| This actually happens to Katy a daycare. On of the dogs does not like bows in anyones hair. Here is what I do. I put the grooming band in make it tighter. Then use bows with french barrettes on them. Slip the barrette between the band and the head. This should make it harder for them to come out. When it is time to remove the band, snip the band rather than pull it out to avoid pulling on the hair. Becareful not to grab any hair when you snip. Good Luck! Quote:
