| Cali's cast is off!!! Yesterday I took Cali to the vet and they took off her cast! I was so excited when I went to pick her up. Then, when they brought her out the back, she has this big e-collar on. So, she went from one dumb, awkward thing to the next. I was relieved when the doctor told me to just keep it on her for a day or two. Evidentally, when the cast comes off it is really itchy and they want to keep her from biting and licking at it. Her leg looks good, not as matted as I thought it was going to be. But it does look a little thiner than the other three, and the hair will comb through pretty okay, alot is coming off. I guess that is what would've shedded had it not been in a splint for 7 weeks. And she won't walk on it too much , keeps it in the air when she runs, plays, sits. I wonder how long she'll avoid that leg?

| Awwwwww glad Cali's cast is off. After a couple of days she'll get back into using that leg again. I remember when my son had his leg in a cast for six weeks when the cast was removed the leg looked so thin. I guess it's the same with dogs. Everything will be back to normal in no time. Hopefully the worst is over. Carol & Buddy |

| That's Great. I'm so happy Cali is doing fine. Poor baby.. Just don't beat yourself up over accidents. I know they can happen. I just don't let anyone hold or take care of Max until he is a little older. When Piper was little my sister-in-law was holding her. She jumped right out of her lap & hit her head on the floor. She turned out alright, but I don't think some people know how to handle such small babies. My sister has never had small puppies, Misha jumped right out of her hands. Yorkie mommy's know how to handle them without that happening. Max squirms all the time, I just know how to hold him without him falling or getting loose. Even my hubby won't hold him when he is squirming. He's afraid he might not have a good enough grip. It must be a mommy thing.

| Yea I am glad she got it off. Not sure what an E collar is. Is that one of those things that look like they have a lampshade on their head? |

| Exactly. She looks quite the ridiculous one with that thing on. She keeps ploppping it against the ground and it makes her lose her balance. I tried to let her go without it today, but the minute I took my eyes off her she was biting at the leg. so back on goes the dumb "lampshade".
