| Remember my pity party?? The other day I posted my own little pity party post about how the rescue groups keep disqualifying me for fostering?? Well someone pm'd me and pretty much said..if it wont come to you..go to it!! Well I posted a few ads in local online papers about how I was willing to help people rehome dogs that they could no longer care for and start my own small at home rescue in hopes of it growing into something special. I got my first phone call tonight..someone needs a home for a 3 month old german shepard mix. I told him to give me time to think about it, call a vet to get the pup checked out before bringing it around my other dogs and go from there. Tonight I made myself a little website and am working on a contract also. I have contacted a few rescue groups to see what else I need to get done...and there is TONS to learn but I AM going to do it..one dog at a time!! Please take a look at my website and see what you think..what could I add...etc.. I need to contact a vet who will hopefully give me a good rate on spay/neuters so the dogs can go to new homes with responsible owners. Take a peek at my site...im tickled to be starting even if its going to take time to get it started right!! http://yourfureverfriend.zoomshare.com/ Thanks, Dawn |

| Good thinking, Dawn!!! You are doing an admirable thing and your site is looking great! As a "senior citizen" with bad eyes, may I suggest a little darker font?? I find it difficult to see the light colored fonts [on YT too!] but perhaps it's just me. Your form and content is clean and easy to navigate. Good luck and you know that we will help in any way we can!!

| I remember the pity party and knew you were determined to make a difference and here you are so quick to jump right in and do it for yourself. Bravo, I am so proud of you. I could put a link to your site on my website to but I am in the US and dont know if it would help you in Canada. Let me know though and I will be glad to do it. Keep up the good work. Bettyanne, it isnt just you, the older I get the harder it is for me to see that light print too. |

| I just got a call from a young woman with two very small children (4,2) who is on kidney dialasis (sp?) and needs a home for a cocker spaniel...I felt so bad for her because she is so sick sounding and so sad to have to give her up. I told her I have to wait a couple days and see what happens with the other case first although I know I could place a cocker pretty quickly so two wouldnt be a big deal. Im so exicited about this I COULD BURST!! It feels so good to help people out....and when our converstation is done I can hear relief and some happiness in their voices.. Dawn |
